I received my new arrows from 3 Rivers and tonight I was able to shoot a bit befor eit got dark. The arrows are uncut Beman MFX 400 with 75 gr inserts and the tip was 145 gr. This was the reccomended ste up by 3 Rivers. I shot it and it appears that the rear end of the arrow is making circles as it flies. Does that mean I have too much tip weight ? Thank you

Circles indicates that your out of tune for both spine and nock height. If it is a hill bow with a standard cut short of center shelf you are overspined by quite a bit with a 400 shaft. Try 200, 250, and 300 grain heads. If they don't work you're going to have to drop arrow spine. Let us know what your shelf is cut to. It may require a drop to a 600 spine shaft. I shoot 600 spine shafts with a total of 400 grains up front from a mild R/D longbow that is cut 3/16 short of center. The bow is 55lbs at my 30 inch draw.
Cut to center or past center bows can shoot higher spine shafts, cut short of center bows need a much lighter spine.
The shelf is definitely not cut to center. I showed a good hole thru paper two nights ago. I was shooting in the dark then, I couldn't see the circles the arrow was making.
I have seen feathers spinning appear to look like the arrow is making circles. Can you see your nock in flight and is it circling also???? This really happens when you have a big contrast in feather colors.
I could see the nock last night and it was making about an 8" diameter circle in flight
I would start with nock height and get to where your only having right and left wobble. an 8 inch circle shows way over spined.

I got home and shot but I think I need to go back to the drawing board. The new arrows are too short, I shot without gloves today and I am actually pulling the field tip beyond my bow hand index finger. Thoughts? Thank you
What length are your arrows?(measure with a tape measure) and how did you figure your draw length?
The Beman MFX are 31 1/2" from inside of nock to end and the GT 55/75's are 32 1/2" . I thought all arrows were the same length if they were left un-cut. I told the guys at 3 Rivers not to cut them. Are all arrows the same length? Thank you
I forgot tomention my draw length was measured at a local archery shop by one of their techs. He said I was 32" draw.

I have a 37 1/2" sleeve.. Hard to find a tux in a hurry.
I would say Your arrows are overspined, But do I know.. I shoot Woodies that fly great.
I shoot woods only and if you are a 32 draw you may have to look into footing those shafts.I think others will chime in and give you some tips on that and other arrows that may be longer. if you get the itch for wood we can help with that.
I have some wood arrows, but I have been scared to try them. They came with the bow. I thought I would break them before I was dialed in. I have read about wood arrows being inconsistant and I also thought I was too green to be able to diagnose ARROW or INDIAN (me)
With wood on that bow 50#@30 and you draw 32, it would make the draw around 55-60#@ 32 I would go with 70-75# shaft and 125-135 grn heads and it should work good.Douglas fir are the cheepest and best bet for woods. I shoot a 70#@31 Hill Tembo and my shafts are 15#-20# heavier than my # at my draw they seem to work best.If you need help let me know.Oh and my Hill loves a leather rest and strike plate.Tim
The arrows that came with the bow are to short for me to shoot. I am going to try and sell them. My Hill has a leather rest and strike plate also. Do you treat yours with anything? I am curious about wood arrows but I am worried I would break them. How tough are they ?
I dont treat the rest or plate, and wood arrows are tough, thats all I shoot they were around before alum and carbon. A ton of guys shoot them and I feel they fly better for me. Have no worries with wood and taking any animal in North America (or any other continent for that matter) with wood.
Is wood practical with my draw lenght ?
I have a 60# and 70# bow and my son(10 yo) has a 30# bow and my doughter(8 yo) has a 25# bow, and my oldest (17 yo) has a 45# bow and we all shoot wood.
