So my 4 yr old daughter has been asking me to make her her own longbow. So I got some red oak strips and put one together for her. We used some plastic arrows she had from her toy bow for now. After some practice she made me very proud and slung a dozen or so shots killing the bag target from 10 feet away. At that moment I realized how important it is to get our youth involved. My dad taught me 28 years ago, Im really happey I could share that same experience as he did with me, with my daughter tonight.

That's awesome! You'll have to start taking her to all the great Trad shoots we have in PA this summer.

No plans, it's 36" tip to tip, I drew up a simple bow shape onto the red oak strip and cut it out. Then sanded it down until she could get a good draw with it. The riser is just a small block that I shaped out nothing fancy. Here are a few pics of it. Not hard to make good luck.
