(http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k592/jet26photos/100_8522.jpg)Here is the beginning of a third season mission. For the last 3 years I have been hunting the late season with some close calls but no meat. I have been waiting for some snow and finally got it. I told my wife I was going out tonight and she just gave me that YOUR CRAZY look. So after a hour or so in the blind with 20 degree temps blowing snow and wind I was thinking she was right. But then I noticed movement. 2 deer were coming! I couldn't believe my luck. With them closing fast I got prepared. Before I knew it the lead doe was giving me a good quartering away angle. I found my anchor and watched my white fletch disappear in her side. After a short 50 yard trail there she was. What a way to end a mission. Nice job!
I went out this evening and saw nothing. It was about 20 degrees here too, but there was maybe 1/2" of snow on the ground. The wind was perfect. The deer just didn't show up. Still can't think of anything I'd rather have been doing though.
Nice pictures. Congradulations. Hap

All's well that ends well. Nicely done. There are times when I let the elements keep me home and cozy and all that time I am thinking about what I may be missing. The only way to know is to do what you did...get out and hunt.
Well done.

Hey See, You're right! By the time I got back on the trail the snow was more of a hindrance than a help.
Congratulations! Nice doe. You're right; it was cold out there tonight. I decided to go and sit in a blind that I placed for my son and watched four does walk under one of my tree stands.
