Don't see why not. Did your wheel bow use the same material?
Compound bow strings are made of the same fast flight material that trad fast flight bow strings are made out of so it will work.
Just make sure your trad bow can handle a fast flight string.
I've never used it, so I couldn't say how well it works...but it won't hurt your string. Like NW said, the same materials used for compound bow strings are used for tradtional bow strings.

What's a compound?
A compound is made when two words are joined to form a new word.
