A guy told me that Idaho had some trad archery only units for elk but, I can't find aything in the regs about it? Does anyone know if they do? Thanks
Sorry, but I haven't heard of a trad-only archery season in Idaho. Although it's possible that it might exist in some part of the state that I don't generally read the regs for.
I think Oregon does... but not sure about it.
Oregon 100% does, Idaho, sound sfamilira but I'm not sure.
Not that I know of. Couldn't find anything either.
I maybe mistaken, but when I was purchasing my liceinse, elk tag and archery permit this past sept in Idaho, I thought the salesman said something about it. If you are planning on going, make sure you carry a side arm, .357mag or larger. The area that I hunted in was loaded with wolves and grizzly sightings are becoming very common. The guy on here from Idaho may say different, but we saw tons of wolf tracks and heard alot of stories about grizzlies from the locals including a friend that we stayed with while there.
We had some Trad only units for bows and muzzleloaders a decade or more back. There were not many units and each hunt ran at different times. Between administering hunts and enforcement of proper equipment during seasons and then challenges by inline users, the seasons went by the wayside.
I remember about 9 years ago the regs explained the difference in Traditional gear and otherwise. I think it's too much to regulate for the agency here.
Thanks Guys.
