Does anybody knows who makes flatbow?
yes Jack Kempf makes a bow called the little Grizzly ,, mine is a good shooter and has a nice pistol grip its a one piece bow and is fairly fast and no hand shock
Mahaska makes a flatbow. I have never shot one, but a lot of folks on here like them. I think they are very attractive.
I have one made by Jay St. Charles-beautiful bow!!
Check out Cascade Archery, I'm pretty sure Steve makes one. RW
Check out Flatwoods Custom Bows. They have a facebook page I think that gives contact info. Bowyer is Billy Hudson. I got a one piece 60" 42# @ 28". Dave
Great Northern bushbow. Not sure if Jerry actually calls it a flatbow. but it's deffiantly not a longbow. Description of bushbow from Great Northern website.....
"The Bushbow is somewhat patterned after the Plains bow of our Native Americans, with a wider and flatter limb measuring 1 1/2" wide at the fadeout and tapering to 9/16" at the string nocks. The deflexed riser is 16" long and measures a sleek 4 3/4" in circumference around the leather handle wrap. The limb tips on the Bushbow have a 4 1/2" power wedge, discreetly inserted within the laminations, which eliminates the need for nock overlays."
Kohannah makes a flatbow too.
Not sure what your criteria is to qualify as a flat bow, but if you are looking for an r/d bow with thin cores and a wide limb don't overlook the Dwyer Defiant. Dwyer's are a sponsor here, build some great longbows, and are some of the nicest people to deal with you will find.
Definitely talk to Ted Fry at Raptor Archery, not only does he build traditional unbacked and backed flatbows but he's a sponsor here as well. I checked out his Raptor Signature flatbow last week and it is smooth and beautiful, as good as it looks in the pictures, they don't do it justice. I don't think it's up on his site yet but there's a thread about it on Powwow called Raptor Archery sneek peek...

John Mcdonald makes a pretty nice one. It was my favorite Bigriver until he came out with the new rd longbow. I could dig upsome pics if you want them.
I have a 60" Dwyer Defiant thats a great shooting bow,and like Whip said, the Dwyers are great folks. You would'nt be disapointed.
Leland
Yellowstone Bows. The renegade flatbow.
Does anyone have pictures of these bows?
When I think glass flatbow the Great Northern Bushbow and Lil' Creep are what come to mind. A "D" bow with wide, thin limbs.
Thanks for the info. I will look them up. Hey Bigriver I would like to see some pics. Thanks.
One of the best were the Rassmusen (Sp) from Idaho. Not sure if they are made any more.

Of the three the Great Northern was my favorite.
This design is near ideal as a hunting bow to my way of thinking.
And, the Great Northern bows have a simple elegance combined with great shooting characteristics.
Ive owned 1 Great Northern Bush Bow and show 2 or 3 more, I liked all of them. Would like to have another someday.
At one time Steve Turray of Northern Mist made a flat "D" shaped bow, not sure if he still does or not.
Northern Mist Heron!
I think Steve will still make it on request.
Come to think of it I need to order one!

I almost bought one of them at the first Traditional Expo 17 years ago. I loved the lines and they shot well. I know of one for sale and the price is right. ...must...resist.
Great Northern Bushbow and Lil' Creep. The best.
I have a Kohannah flat bow. Shoots well, good looker.
I have a 62" Robertson Buffalo vision flatbow, all bocote, beautiful
