I used 100% acrylic yarn for it's water shedding abilities but loving the puffs and the yarn served flem twist string ends...especially on my Bob Lee Recurve..what a difference...and bow my bows are now quiet as can be. :)

I use 80% acrylic and 20% wool. Works for me.

hate to tell You But that's not anyway close to being Mountain muffler.. I think You meant Bow Hush.

You don't hafta "hate" to tell me..and thanks for tellig me...i just edited the post..i'm 53 and make mistakes these days...maybe i mis-understood the guy who told me..but whatever ya'll call it?....it's yarn i served onto my string ends and works great..L8R, Bill.

I think jinkster may be right. My uncle always wrapped his strings that way to silence the bow for hunting. One of the first things he did when he bought me a recurve was to show me how to do it. He called it a bow muffler. The time was in the 60's. Not such a new idea.
