After 6 1/2 months my new Robertson Stykbow arrived today. I open the box, pull out the bow and inspect it carefully. It's perfect. 66" primal styk 60# @ 28" cocobolo and yew. Now it's time to try it out. I put the string on and right away I see something wrong. 66" bow and a 61" string. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I called up Robertson and they are sending a new string asap. What's a few more days at this point.
That string will be here before you know it!
The up side is now you have time to take some pictures of your new bow to share.!!.. :readit:
Well you get to look at it longer. Pics. please.
Those are sweet bows! Had one but had to part with it, would love another one!
Yeah, where's the Pics??
Eric

thanks westbrook I figured it out. Been awhile since I posted pics.
The perfect r/d bow in my opinion. Thanks for posting the pics; one just like it is on my "must have" list for next year.
PUUURTY!
That is almost identacle to the one I had, Cocobola, bamboo, yew, 60 @ 29" but LH.
Enjoy!
Eric
WOW!! I really like the Robertson Styk bows, got one early this year, cocobolo and bamboo 70# @27", horn tips and laced leather.
Feed the addiction
Hey Duff, can you say " high brace height"?
Very nice.
Very nice.
Nice looking bow. I once had a Mystical I really wish I'd kept :knothead:
Great bows. I have a Purist with red elm limbs that's been my go to bow since the early 90's. I like trying new bows but it seems I always end up back with old faithful.
Shortlongbow, I agree. I've had Dick's Purists over the years and sold them when the 'recurve bug' bit. Classic design by a 'classy man'. Time to get another one.

I have a Pierce Point right hand and a myrtle on myrtle lefty, both are 52 pounds at 26&1/4". When I was at a gathering a while back, a fellow with a recurve about the same pull except at his 28" draw, was busy telling me about his stored energy and bow speed and how I was actually getting less power than he would with a forty pound bow and that I should not be shooting 1918s. That is all well and good, except using my 1918s with 200 grains up front, my Robertson longbows chrono-ed faster than his recurve shooting the same arrow at our indivual draw lengths.
I am not all that sure about the argument that a standard Hill style bow is more forgiving. I like my Hill style bows as well, but I cannot say that they are more or less forgiving than my faster per pound Robertsons, just being honest about my own observations.
Beauty right there! One of my favorite wood combos, hard to beat Cocobolo and Yew.
Eric
SWEEEET
The one I have is a good shooter; it used to be Westbrooks.
