Title: Wonderful people
Post by: Iowabowhunter on December 27, 2011, 10:21:00 AM
I mentioned on a previous post how I was just starting my traditional journey and didn't have many arrows. A member on this site demonstrated how members on this site are some of the most generous people on this planet, and sent me 18 arrows from his own personal collection! I'm not going to mention any names for confidentiality reasons, but I would like some ideas of a personal gift I can send in return to show ky appreciation? I am hoping to harvest a deer using one of the arrows he sent me, and hopefully can find something cool to send back. I do tye my own flies for flyfishing, maybe a box of some homemade trout slayers? Any ideas would b appreciated, I don't work leather but am hoping to learn how because I would love to send a sentimental gift to show my appreciation. Thanks guys and gals!

If the person is a trout fisherman, some flies would be very welcome, I'm betting. I'm continuously amazed by the generosity of TGers. Good folks here, for sure.

Get in line. Just when you think you've seen it all someone comes along & humbles again. Just a bunch of powerful considerate folks here.

Don't give to get in my (& likely many other's) case. If you have to make up the difference, anything heartfelt would do; card, e-mail, BH's, New Porsche (joke son), or whatever. Might post arrow pix.

Id say the best gift would be to pay it forward. You'll likely embarrass him with a gift.

Biggie's suggestion is spot on. No better feeling than knowing an act of generosity is still marching on.

Yep, Biggie got it right.  Pay it forward by doing something to help another someday would be the best thing you could do.

I am way to slow to give you the best and most correct answer because Biggie and all those others beat me to it.

I'd bet my hat that the act of kindness that was shown to you was not done with any thought of getting anything in return except maybe a "Thank you!".

Here's my advice on how to accomplish not only this but to stretch the envelope a bit.

Try to make each day a "perfect" day. A perfect day is when you can find someone to do something for which that person will never be able to repay you.

God bless,Mudd

I do have some 'so-called' friends outside of trad- but when I got in trouble, I'll give you three guesses and two don't count- who came to my aid?

Right- my trad friends!  A lot of folks talk the talk but I'm amazed by the deeds of my true friends time and again

Pay it forward!
