Title: What is going to be the fate of the Woodsman bh.?
Post by: SuperK on December 26, 2011, 12:05:00 AM
Since Magnus sold their line of trad broadheads to Thunder Valley Archery, who (if anyone) is manufacturing the standard 125 grain Woodsman broadhead for 3Rivers?  Many Tradgang sponsors have them listed as "out-of-stock".  I called 3Rivers and they stated they were having "manufacturing problems."      :banghead:     Is the standard Woodsman broadhead going to be discontinued?  Is it going to be permanently replaced with the Woodsman Elite?  Is the Woodsman joining the ranks of the Bear Razorhead and other great broadheads that are no longer in production? Does anybody know what is going on?

I have one or two dozen I could probably be talked out of.  I tend towards 2 blades and only occasionally use WW.

The Magnus sale has created a lot of repercussions...STOS and Woodsman heads are MIA, Snuffers and Magnus I's are getting hard to find too.  I hope this all gets sorted out soon.

I went to 3 rivers website and none of the Woodsman come up out of stock. Has any one spoke derictly to a 3 Rivers person like Dale or Johnathan Karch? If they have to look for other opptions to build the woodsman it may just take some time. Just because magnus sold a line of broadheads to some one else has any one at Magnus said they will not manufactor a broadhead for 3 Rivers? It seems there is all ways some one asking questions that need to be answered derictly with the manufactor. I can not see 3 Rivers letting there investment in the Woodsman fall to the way side.

The original Woodsman 125 gr glue-ons aren't going anywhere. They may be a bit low on stock at the moment but that will be resolved pretty quickly.

Don't ask me how I know... I just know.   :readit:

I don't understand that I just received a half dozen WW 150gr from 3 Rivers the first week of December.

I don't think it is any big secret.  Todd Smith's brother Bisquit bought the traditional line from Mike.  He was at Compton meeting with Roger Rothhaar getting some tips from the original maker on the Snuffer.  Might want to contact Todd to get the freshest info...

So are the folks manufacturing the Snuffer line sold by Magnus, now going to be making the original style glue on WWs?

Also, are they still going to keep the big 160 grain, glue on Snuffers (biscuit cutters).

Thanx.

Hey Zbone... ThunderValley Archery's website lists glue-on Snuffers from 100 grains up to 160 grains.

Glad to hear they won't be gone for good. I use the elites as I feel they are a big improvement but I would never get rid of the originals.

There's the Snuffer section on the Thundervalley Archery website.

There will be new products coming out this year as well.
