Title: Older Model Black Widow
Post by: Lost Arra on December 25, 2011, 04:14:00 PM
Any info on this bow? Never owned a Widow.

Is 7255 a model # or serial number?

Approximate age?  Family member thinks 1960-61. Given as a gift to the hs band director/deer hunter.

Still shoots nice.

My uncle has an older Widow that he was wondering about and I sent an email to them and found them to be very helpful. They replied the same day.

His was

Bow #11741 Model TF 68" 35# @ 28" draw was originally shipped April 26,
1965.  That's about all the info I have on the old bow.

Thank you,

I have the twin to yours, except mine is 48#s@28"s. That must be the serial # as mine is 13433. Mine shoots great!

Email Roger at Black Widow ([email protected]) with the serial number. He will get back with you with the date it was shipped and to where. From there you can do further research if you wish. I would date that bow around '63 as a guess, but I can check for you when I get home to be exact.

Nice.

(edit: It is a 1963. Wilson Bros. made approximately 1,924 bows that year and their serial numbers ran from 7026 to 8950)
