Title: Custom Flemish Strings
Post by: oldgriz on July 18, 2007, 03:53:00 PM
Where is a good source for custom flemish strings..
I just got a B handled Bear Mag TD (now have 2) with a set of C 37# limbs and set of A 50# limbs...
The string on the lighter limbs gives to high a brace height... I am going to want new flemish stings...
Who makes good ones at reasonable prices.

Hawksnest speaks wisdom.  Chad Weaver makes a great string.

I make my own basic dacron strings, but when I wanted a professional string, I have used both Chad and Golden Hawk here on tradgang.  When I finally started making my own, though, I kicked myself for not starting much sooner.

I plan on trying my hand at making my own sometime soon, but Chad at recurves.com made a couple a few weeks ago for me until then.  The are very nice and shoot great.  He was also extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the phone and will do absolutely whatever it takes to make sure you get what you want and that you are happy - all at a great price.

i went to chad weavers page but it won't let me pick more than one color for each string,,,, also whats the best serving braid size for classic nocks?

Serving size really depends alot on how many strands and what material is used. In my experience 14 Strands of D97 and .022-.026 serving works best for classic nocks.

Tajue, press the "Ctrl" button and you can choose more than one color, or just type it in the space at the bottom of the order form.  If you aren't sure about serving size, just list the type nock you are using and I'll pick the serving size that fits best.

Thanks for the good word all!

Chad

Chad, by the way, the Mountain Berry color with Black you made me is one of the prettiest string combos I've had.  It really compliments my bow.  Thanks for such a nice job!!   :D
