Its from a bathroom exhaust fan, Nutone brand. I replace a lot of them at work so I figured I give it a go, works great.
Nice! I just replaced one the other day in my bathroom. AND I found a place to get them pretty cheap online.

David, I think a rotisserie motor would be too slow.
I use an Arrow Specialties crester and until recently I didn't know how fast it spins. An advertisement in an old archery magazine I was reading states 300rpm. If a rotisserie motor spun that fast it would be slinging barbecue sauce near and far.

I used a peice of rubber airbrush hose that slips over each shaft. But surgical tubing is better this is just what I had laying around. The rotisserie motor is too slow for cresting, any type of small fan motor will have the speed you need, then the dimmer switch will get your speed dialed in perfect, good luck with it.
If you are looking for a chuck to attach to the motor shaft I purchased one a few years ago from 3 rivers...I just checked them out and they have them still and the price is $9.40...I had a homemade crester that my brother and I made about 15 years ago and I purchased that chuck from three rivers and it fit the motor shaft perfect...I'm sure if you knew your motor shaft size and call 3 rivers they would tell you if it would fit....The good thing is the way it's designed will help keep the arrow from wobbleing...Just thought someone might want to know 3 river's has them unter the tool section.. Very nice job you did on the crester. A 3/8 variable speed drill will work good too.
