Title: kid's arrow??
Post by: KOOK68 on December 21, 2011, 03:35:00 PM
I bought my 4 year old a Maddog longbow. 20#@25" I bought some cheap boxstore carbon arrows w/vanes. Vanes hit shelf, so I cut them down and fletched with feathers. Arrows still come off of the shelf nock high. I cut them approx. 1" in front of shelf at his full draw.
My question is, are they now too stiff? How do I find an arrow he can shoot half way straight?

You can make good arrows for that bow from 1/4" ramin wood dowels. Select the stiffer and straighter ones. You can get points and nocks from 3 rivers. If you don't want to make them, we have a few left after the Christmas rush.
