Black Widow will have a new bow modell in their 2012 line-up.
I'll created a sneak preview on my website and will add pictures on a daily base until christmas.
You can see that the new modell will be a recurve bow and some of the rumors you heard were not true.
Pictures are located here: http://www.blackyschwarz.com
Enjoy the pictures.
Thanks ! very interesting!
Ta Da!

Thanks Blacky, very kind from you,I'll wait for a complete view! :coffee:
Thanks Blacky. Do you know if it is a 3 piece takedown or 2 piece yet?
ILF????
foam core or carbon strip ?
Ah... crud.
How am I gonna esplain dat one to da wife?
:banghead:
I call bs on blacky...no disrespect intended :D
I've never seen a bow-strip show before.
So far it all looks old.
Don't see much change so far. 'Cept for the 55th Anniversary emblem. Let's see what shows up tomorrow.
Would that be a static limb ?
I see a red core in the limbs.
same bows, different colors........no big deal. how about green actionwood with blue glass inside like the old bear blue stripes............
Nice!
Looks like they are more curved!
:campfire: :coffee:
I think people are expecting to much....they have never left the product that works....at least not by much!
...Lead us not into temptation....
Probably not the way I would introduce a new product but I've never claimed to be a marketing genius.

Curious to see what the Widow Workers came up with. I called Widow last week to get some tillering onfo on a bow and was given a little hint on what it is. I guess we'll find out soon enough :) :) :)
KB- Is that the Ken Beck model?
no it stands for Kross-Bow - they've entered the modern market. Surprise!
Owlbait, yes it is.
I'm wondering if it's an old model when the Wilson brothers were making them and competing?
Sure hope that is new BW critter is not one I feel I just have to have. My rat hole has been raided more than once this year.
All the hype that has been surrounding the KB has had me worked up for some time. Sure hope she truly is something special and lives up to the hype and then again I would be better off if she didn't.
Note: Limb depicted resembles the PCH from my perspective
hhmmm..
The red core is about all I find interesting..foam?
If I were in charge of the release of this one I'd either show all or nothing.
Everyone is curious about what the bow is and how it's different from the past.
Right now, from these pics, I believe the hype will fizzle.
Show something that looks worthy of the build up or the fire just might go out.
my 2ยข
Most likely the red is coretuff glass like the rest of the bows they build.
Not impressed yet!
Seen the new pics today. Looks like a one piece PCH to me.

Same here....I was hoping for a 3 pc TD Longbow
Seems that would be a great addition to their lineup.
Over&Uner, I agree. The hype that was created and the hopes of many that were really expecting something "different" may turn this into a little bit of a disapointment for some. I like recurves over longbows, and I am extremely happy with my PSAX, but I would have like to have seem something "outside the box". A 3 pc. longbow would have been a real winner I think!
I really like one piece bows....this one is tempting for sure.
Anyone know what lengths they will be available in?
Terry,
since it's basically a one-piece PCH the available bow lengths should be the same as the PCH models.

Pretty bow and all.
I was all ready for a "wow that's new" bow.
I'm sure it's quality.
:p
See I told you guys not to expect anything to "NEW" :dunno:
I like it !! :)
Ah...thanks Blacky.
What a Bocote! :scared:
Looks good to me, I was thinking it would be a modified PSR.. I think they will sell a bunch of KBs. I think a 3 piece R/D would be a good seller too
Boy I was expecting something a bit "wowier".
Since it's a one-piece PCH, it's basically a PA with a little bit shorter riser and sight window, right?
Wonder if it's going to be offered in the usual Graybark, Autumn Oak, Ironwood and X versions?
One piece PCH is a PA. Lay one on top of another and they are the same.
That's the type of recurve that's always caught my eye! I like the wood in it too.
Blacky-that is just too cool! now...quit teasing because you are gonna make me buy another recurve! lol Thanks!!
Kenny :nono:
Looks like my favorite widow the PA? Maybe a couple cosmetic things different.
Nice looking bow. It's a one piece PCH but it looks almost like similar lines to the PA to me. The sight window is shorter than the PA.
The PA has the same length riser as a PSA. The KB has the same length riser as the PCH which is 2 inches shorter at 14 inches.
I was expecting more WOW than that. I was really hoping for something more different.
I am sure it will be nice, just not all that different. :dunno:
Hoping to see a few more PA's on the block now! Maybe even a PGA
I am surprised, I too was expecting a 3 piece long bow.
Great looking Widow!
I like it!
Black Widows are great bows and I'm sure this one will be too. I wish they would bring their quality, craftsmanship, and experience to something different. I would love to see them offer a Hill style bow, a flat bow, or a forward handle longbow, even just for a limited run. It would actually be new and exciting to see their version of the classic designs.
A fine bow! Thanks for the look Blacky.
She is pure beauty in my eyes.
Even at that, I would not be surprised that there is more to her than what already has captured my attention.
Wow nice...bet it's a hunting machine.
i am not a BW lover and to be honest i usually think their bow are overpriced regarding to the low average performance they give BUT this KB model has something fantastic for me: 60" AMO model hold up to 33" draw length !!
I have a draw length close to 32", shooting 3 under and it is difficult to find hunting bows in the 60" AMO really designed to handle such a kind of draw length. I broke a bunch of lower limb of bows supposed to be handling my draw length...
this KB model is a really interesting product for us 31"+ guys looking for a short hunting bow.
I applaud their efforts to bring new models to the market and the excitement it creates. Unfortunately I'm on the other end of the spectrum in aesthetic preferences.
What is the red dot on the back of the grip?
A left over from shaping the riser?
Looks like in could be a bit of the red core material from the limbs.
I didn't know some guys did it like that.
Thanks for the pics.
Very sharp looking bow, I like it. Being that it is a short one piece recurve, I wonder how much it will impact sales of the PSR. I would bet that most will jump on this new shorty than the PSR.
I can see where there would be a niche for it, but like many others on here, I was looking for a 3 piece longbow.
Maybe next year?

i think thats what everybody was expecting this time around something actually new and exiciting but then we just got the same old same old
Anyone know where we can see more pics?...I'd like to see this bow strung and unstrung. I keep coming back.
As for their 'performance'...my PCH performs very well, not the fastest bow I've owned, but certainly no 'dog'. BW has one STABLE shooting platform, and accuracy is a big part of performance to me.
Heck, and I'm a longbow lover.... :biglaugh:
They have it posted in their online catalog now.
What is it? I don't see a description for it. How does it differ from their other recurves?
found it
They should have come out with a MA. One piece. Oh well, maybe next anniv.
I was hoping for a set of longbow limbs for my PSAX.
Geezzz! You guys are rough!
The KB model really is a great new bow. I've been shooting one for 8 months now. I've shot it a BUNCH and have taken quite a bit of game with it.
My KB is a 58"long, 57# @ 28" bow made of dark Kingwood. It has alot of early draw weight and is a smooth shooter. The riser is 2 inches shorter than my 60" PA model bow and the working limb is 2" longer. Thus my 58" KB has limbs like my 60" PA. Longer working limbs make it a sweet shooting bow. At 57# it actually bare shafts the same arrow as my 60# PA. It's NICE.
As far as the "wow" factor. I think I've read all the posts on all the sites and I fail to see anyplace Black Widow Custom Bows has tried to "wow" anyone with the release of this new model.
Try it out for yourself at Kzoo.
Darryl
How about some pics of your bow Darryl?
I went to the on-line catalog. Yep, it sure is different from the PA -- side by side the sight windows are definitely shorter!
I was hoping the new Widow would be a one-piece recurve. I don't know if I need one since I already have a cocobolo PAX that is terrific.
However, I've never owned a Greybark....
I would love to see them introduce a retro bow like the 60s era Wilson Bros "H" bows but modern glass n wood........maybe a graybark with maroon glass, 66" in length..........
Well I stand corrected. I could have sworn my PAX matched up perfectly with PCH.
Black Widow has posted the bow on their web page BEFORE 2012.
Take a look
http://www.blackwidowbows.com/store/Bows-C1.aspx
Awesome! I love my PCH, and seeing as I prefer one-piece bows, well, this is going to be perfect! Now the plotting and scheming begins...
I'm glad there are so many guys that could run the BW shop better...geez, rough crowd around here. I guess most have already had their hunting seasons closed and cabin fever has set in.
That sight window is tiny! Looks like an awesome addition to a solid line of proven bows that are built to hunt. I would love to shoot one along with all their bows.
pretty sharp
Nice! But I haven't worn out my TF quite yet.
Thanks for the new info., though.
I too wonder why so many are 'dissappointed'......how did all of you come to some pre conceived notion? I am genuinely asking.....an would like to know as we don't see that kind of reaction here very often. Was there some type of 'pre release chat' that lead so many to believe something different? Again I'm seriously asking.
Also....it love to take one of these to our anual TX hunt that's coming up soon with about 20 Trade Gangers ...I'm taking my BW PCH BTW.
Terry,
I don't know about anyone else but...
I made a post a while back asking who made a forward handle 1 piece longbow.
I got a couple replies/emails/pm's that black widow was coming out with one in 2012.
I don't really know "who's who" so I couldn't really consider the source.
I did get one message later that it wasn't going to be.
The rumor mill was running pretty rampant on some other sites too.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a darn nice bow, as Black widows are....beautiful too.
Just not what I was really HOPING to see...and was sorta led to believe I would.
Still, nice looking bow.
Fills a good niche in their lineup.
Merry Christmas Black widow fans!
Terry,
I was dissapointed because I was hoping for a three piece take down. I shoot a PCH for hunting, and have several other recurve widows. I was hoping to add a long bow with a similar grip to my collection.
As far as a pre conceived notion; nope. Just a wish.
Looks like a KB might be coming to Lenexa. Glad you still like the PCH Terry. Along with my PTFX,the best hunting bow I have ever owned (or shot).
Beautiful bow and if it comes from Nixa it has to be good! I'd like one in woodland camo.
I see Widow envy still runs deep around here.
Not dissapointed, how could I be? Any Widow bow in the hand is a rush.
I just doubt that the super short sight window would suit me, so I'll stick with my dreams of a PTF for my next bow.
In the meantime my PCH is da bomb.

My thoughts exactly!!!! Lol
Terry, What I think happened was there was a "what would you like to see in a new bow" thread on the "wall" before they let out the countdown to the KB. Everyone started speculating what it was gonna be before Blacky started posting pics. The consensus was either a 3 pc. LB or a 1 pc. MA. Thats why some are kinda "disappointed". I like though!
I am sure it will be great, Heck I love my psa.
I guess I was hoping for a Hill style!!!
Just received a PM requesting me to trade my PCH for a KB.
I thought for a second and realized that I had PM'd myself.
Only jesting, my PCH 'The Turkey Spyder' has served me very nicely and she hasn't had and opportunity to cut loose on a gob. This new KB bow would be quite enticing provided that I didn't already own such a nice turkey bow. She is thankfully such a nice match that I am not second guessing.
I sincerely hope the KB is an opulent success for BW as well as to those which take her home..
It's EXACTLY the bow I was hoping to see! Aside from the joke I made about a D-longbow...
The new bow is a great bow! Roger went with me to Texas back in April on a turkey hunt where we both took turkeys with our PCH's which in my opinion is the best recurve that I have ever owner or shot. Very easy to point and shoot and I love the lighter feel in the hand compared to the longer riser bows. The new KB model is just like that and since I seldom take my PCH down it is all a guy would need. Roger had one of the new KB on that hunt that he was field testing. It will be a hit.
I had the opportunity to shoot the KB -- under a cloak of dark secrecy :scared: -- before Thanksgiving.
Now, I'm a take-down guy. I just don't have any interest in a bow that I can't take apart and fit pack in tighter places. So, the KB and I don't match in that respect. But it is a fantastic shooting bow.
And widows are in the low end of average performance? That statement is incorrect. Properly set up, they are excellent performers, and with a decades-old legacy of quality product and quality customer service.
I think that any "disappointment" is due to all of us kicking around ideas that it was going to be some blow-the-roof off, cutting-edge product. Those seeds weren't planted by Black Widow; they were sown by internet chatter. Any disappointment is our own fault! :dunno:

Agreed!!!
I'm sure not disappointed. If I had to own only one Widow it would be a one-piece (as long as I had a TD in another brand).
Terry
It just seemed that BW would as some have said..."think outside the box" as it were and come out with something that doesn't quite fit with their current lineup.
I didn't really hear any pre-release chatter about something, just figured that with all the hype, it was something other than basiclly the same thing they already had.
I am not really dissaponited, as even if it was a 3 piece TD LB as I had hoped, the grip on BW's does not agree with me, and I probably wouldnt' buy one anyway....that is unless the grip was different to match the different model.
I reckon there are other companies to make other styles of bow. Black Widow have a particular style, and they do a grand job of it. One company can't make everything.
You're right on, Ben.
Yep... wonderful! Now I am like a dog with two tails! Do I get a PCH, run with what I know in a PSA... or the newer KB?
Hmmm.... might have to put the order off till I make the long trip to the BW shop and shoot till my liddle aussie heart is satisfied!
ak.
Very nice looking bow! Black widows are my favorite recurves.

I can't disagree with that....it has worked for them fot quite sometime now. I have shot a PCH and it was by far my favorite BW I have ever shot...I bet the KB is no different.
