The wife has given the blessing, I've been in touch with the fly-out company and my partners and I are on the flight schedule. September 2013 is a long time from now but the countdown has started and its going to be a long wait.
Whatcha hunting?
Went in 2010 for deer on Kodiak with my father for a 10 day backpack hunt. Best week of my life!
Alaska is a place I only spent 12 days, but has been with me ever sense!
Have fun!

Caribou and Black bear. We thought about moose but decided against it this time. The wife and my two son's have been up there twice before on family vacations. I'm more than likely retiring July 2013 so this will be the gift-trip to myself. I'll be doing a lot of researching for gear and will no-doubt be reading the TG archives.
you will love it up here, have fun planning and picking gear.

Thanks, MT - yes, I'm looking forward to it all. I hope I can figure what I need and not show up at the airport with a ton of gear.
If you need any help just give me a shout. More than willing to get you the info you need.
Sure is fun planning and then waiting for the hunt to come around. My wife and I are now waiting on a spring bear hunt in Alberta. Kind of like waiting for Christmas. Best of luck in the planning stage.

Thanks, Habu...and back at you! I'll be looking here for your pictures.
Hope you have a great time while you're here. As Bill said, if you need help, or any gear, don't be shy. Happy retirement, when every day is a Saturday.
Sounds too be a great trip for a retirement gift. Hope you have a great hunt. Enjoy
