Who does the best stippling & checking? I have a Silvertip which has a checked grip & I love the feel of it in my hand. So I know Dave Windauer does a great job. Are there any others? Also I see the stippling on some Hoots & Centaur bows with some of the images in them which look fantastic. So who does this type of work? Pictures if you've got them.
I like my Hoots, it looks good and feels good. I've tried some that don't feel good in the hand.

Jim Neaves at Centaur. I like his price and the stipple is not smooth like others and actually creates a positive grip. He does great engraving work as well. Check him out:

I've seen some real nice looking Silvertip work.
Dye Medicine Points have the best checkering I have seen on a bow. Its small and precice with no overruns and perfect diamonds.
I like Hoots stippling and Jim Neaves stippling . Both are really nice.
I have seen some though , No names. that is absolutely atrocious. crooked lines, overruns, uneven diamonds not cut evenly depth ect.
However I am not a fan of checkering on a bow and I am a good checkerer and have checkered hundreds of custom rifles. I like the smoother feel of stippling. I do not push checkering on bows but I would have no problem doing it. I get enough of your bows are too fancy already. LOL
God Bless you all and Merry Christmas, Steve

My Hoots with Moose antler stipple...
If you want checkering I'd say Dave Windauer is as good as it gets.

Yes Lee does his own and you don't even know it's there! It has no sharp edges and won't cut your hand so to speak!Lee does a fantastic job and he showed me a predrawn sketch of my moose antler before he started the stippling process...He's mighty talented and a down to earth backwoods country boy! :archer:

It does not get any better than Dave Windauer for checkering.
