How cheap is cheap man we need all the details? Love to hear about those pawn shop/yardsale finds.
You said its faint and smeared. Do you Think it could say "SAMPLE" sometimes bows were stamped to be floor models.
Sure would love to see pictures.
Nope C-R it says SINGLE in capital letters I had to go look the little bow feels good shoots good but is very loud but it donsn't have any string dampers of any kind and the brace height is a bit big I think for this bow 7 1/2"s what do ya'll think.
lets see some pics :archer:
Pics!
I think you will get that old bow to quiet down with some tuning.
Probably could be the best shooting bow in your line up.

Looks like a Pearson Ambusher to me...Nice find.
Hate to be a nit picker, but it looks like it says "Signal" rather than "Single".

Definitely looks like a Pearson to me Looks like a fun bow. Post this and the pic over on the Trad History and Collecting forum and you'll likely learn more about the bow.
There is a lengthy Refinishing 101 Thread posted at the top of that forum to help with your refinish.
Old bows are cool. Congrats
Thanks guys what about a new string had a really good guy send me a few strings a while back I can't remember his name but he is from middle AR. If you read this could ya pm me. Also what would be the right brace height on this bow.
Fpr 40$ id take that bow anytime! Great find, congrats!
I think it says SIGNAL, So may change your search.
.......and after fully reading this thread, it seems I am not the only one to notice that. :banghead: ummmm, maybe it's a Pearson... Goodnight now.
Yep it is a Pearson Signal Star. Got one on the rack. Then they made it with an all Phenolic plastic looking riser.
That is "Signal" printed on the limb, not "single". Maybe that will help somebody ID it. (As others noted while I was typing) :)
OK got to looking at the bow some more and the bottom libm is twisted how do I twist it back to the right spot.
