Looking for your personal insight and experiecne with feathers. Why do you choose one over the other? Thanks.
I like the way shields look more. Just personal preference for me.
I use both. They seem to shoot the same.
Shield will hit my knuckle when I shoot my low shelf PLGA.
I think the shields look a little better.

Shield cut are more traditional looking, and I do like them. That being said all but one of my arrows are fletched with parabolic. This was due to that is what I had at hand in the colors I wanted. As it has already been said it is just a personal preference.
Simply like the look of shield cut better. I've been told that shield are noisier but I haven't noticed.
Banana style for Me. I like the looks and with a little cut here or there and You have a hybrid nana fletch
Shield for me. It just looks more trad to me.
Been shooting shield for 55 years. Not about to change now.
Shield 5&1/2 for me
Parabolic for me. I like the way they look. It's what I started out with 47 years ago.
A modified parabolic/banana low height to minimize noise.
I like shield on my wood arrows, but like parabolic on my carbons and aluminum. It's a personal preference.
Shield 5 1/2"
Shield on my Woodies and parabolics on my Target arrows.
Parabolic for me.It's what I've always used and I figure if it ain't broke.......
Shields and parabolics are faster and quieter than traditional cut feathers. Sheilds for me because I have a shield feather chopper.
I use 5 inch parabolics.
Both (nut)
I like parabolics on my target arrows, they seem to hold up better when i hit them with another arrow. The shield cut look better. But i also like to have a few banna;s ,i think they look cool and they fly really straight up tp 30 yrds.I would only put sheild cut on wood arrows. Trueflight says they can find NO difference in performace between parabolic and shield cut, but i think the parabolic are faster and straighter ??
The majority of arrows that I build for guys they request shield cut. I use them for my own arrows also. Like the looks, fly great, and the point touching my nose is one of my anchors.
Shield on all my arrows.I think they look better.
I think Shield look better but Parabolic are quieter, I shoot both. The rest are ugly.
:D
Shield to me also look better but I agree parabolic are quieter. I use both and change from 4" to 5" just as I change point weight when looking for good flight depending on which bow I'm shooting at the time.

I've always shot shield because when I started shooting those are the choppers my dad had and just never thought to really change.
I use shield, just prefer the look. I do think parabolic is slightly quieter in flight, especially comparing new feathers. Once they are worn a bit there seems to be less difference.
More significantly noise wise for hunting, I don't brush parabolic feathers with a bulky coat as easily as I do the back point on shield feathers.
Shields for me...
i like the aesthetic look of shield, parabolic is quieter and a 4-fletch lo-pro banana is both quiet and fast. this year i've returned to the roots - 5.25" heavy helical burnt shield.

+1, I use 4"ers.
