I've been shooting traditional now for a year. I prefer a D shaped long bow. My hero is Howard Hill. I just wanted to say that archery has become a lot more intrestig sence I took off the training wheels.I was hunting with an old freind the last weekend of hunting seaon. He couldn't beleve I went from a compound to a long bow. I told him you ought to try it. You will never go back. It's so much faster and simpler. I can shoot 4 acurat arrows faster than he can shoot 2.
Oooh how i love to hear from the converts.Glad to see you have crossed over.
Once hooked theres no going back. :goldtooth:
It's starts as a sickness then becomes a lifestyle!
Congrats! It is so sweet to hear that little thump as the arrow leaves the string. Hitting your target at any distance is so much sweeter.
Yup, recurves and longbows are so much fun to shoot.
Everything about it is so addicting!Hi my name is Gary and I am a tradarcheryaholic. lol :wavey:

Completely agree. I'm still in that first year and am a mix of both at present time. Don't think I could have come up with that description but it definitely fits. :)
yes... I agree I picked up a long bow 20 years ago and have not even thought about wheelies, guns anything
Right there, bro!
"I can't shoot that grouse! He's moving."

Amen and X2 to everything already state :archer: d!
Big Ed nailed it. My sentiments exactly :)
"Addiction??" thats a bunch of BS. I've been shooting "Trad" for 2 months. Started with a low weight Darton 35#@28". Now I'm buying a "Bear Recurve 45#@28". Wifes not too happy, and I'm sleepin on the couch with "One Eye " open!!
Priceless, :biglaugh:
All my best to you,
Right there with ya man...I have been hunting with a "wheelie" for the last few years and all it did was lead me back to traditional archery that I started on as a kid...I am having a difficult time quantifying the level of new-found excitement and reward that I get when shooting a longbow to my wife. You just don't get that feeling with modern gear....plus there is a lot more gear you can make yourself on this side of the house.
ya need a degree to drive one of those wheelie things any how to many things can go wrong with them. long bow recurve good choice good to hear we have another one who saw the light  :clapper: :clapper: :archer2: :archer2:
There is just no challenge to the compound. I haven't shot one in 3 months. I could probably go out and shoot bulls at 60 yards right now. If I take a week off of my longbow my first shooting session is disappointing at the least.
