I was able to get out this evening for a hunt.I gathered my gear and started out the door. I stood for a minute in the yard thinking about which way and where to go. I`ve killed 4 does around my house and don`t want to shoot another of "my" deer.lol
I decided to go hunt a bottom a few miles down the road. A Neighbor has a large peanut field that has been flipped and gathered and the hay baled as well. The Deer are still coming though. I walked a long way behind the field and climbed in a bottom I killed a doe in about 15 years ago.
It was a nice afternoon not cold or hot and no skeeters. I heard Turkeys fly up and had an Owl land in a tree about 15 yards away. After a short stare down he flew away.I once had a Hawk almost take my bow out of my lap . It was after my Beaver fur silencers so I made sure I had my hand on it with the owl around.
As it got later maybe 5:30 I could hear walking. I first thought it was Turkeys because it was kinda spread out but instead it was deer. A big doe and yearling were going across in front of me to the left. I could hear another deer to my right and one almost under me. I barely moved to shoot a big doe and got caught by the deer under me. They all bounced a bit to my left....
The deer to my right had no clue what was up and walked across in front of me to go with the others. I picked a spot low in the chest and the Mohawk made that awful purty "thump". The deer ran hard for about 50 yards and all was quiet...

Almost to low on this one. The arrow hit the off side leg . Second deer I`ve killed with this arrow and Tigershark.

As always you impress. I envy those of you who have the opportunity to harvest many animals in one season. Idaho has a lot to offer by the way of variety of critters and amazing country but I would like to trade a couple of seasons of that for the sheer number of opportunities that some off you all get. And I must say it appears you are very good at making the most of the opportunities that you are afforded.
Congrats on the amazing season RC!
Travis

"Good" is not the right word Kenny. Robert Carter and Chris Spikes are masters at hunting these swamps.
10 deer in a year is amazing! Congrats! :notworthy:
That does it....I am moving out of Colorado!
Way to go RC...you are a well oiled hunting machine!
Keep 'em coming RC. Good work.
Of course he makes his own luck by being out there, having good knowledge of his hunting areas and putting the time in on the ground...
Having acknowledged all that, I haven't even SEEN 10 deer in PA woods this year, albeit, it was a short season here for me due to other factors...but still... 10 deer!
:saywhat:
Congrats again!
RC and family won't be shopping in the meat department this year. How many ways can you prepare deer and pig? Thanks for sharing your trips to the swamp. I look for RC's post everytime I come to Trad Gang. Always a good adventure. DC
Atta Boy Robert  But I don't think luck has anything to do with you killin deer and pigs! Send some of that mojo my way won't ya? Congrats and great write up as usual.
Sweet RC. Thats alot of venison! Well done.
Congratulations on your latest addition to the freezer RC!
Way to go again!
RC,
What's your impression of the "Tigershark" head? Compared to the other sharks and ease of sharpening, thanks.
Thanks guys. SMB, I have no problem sharpening any Simmons since Chris showed me how. Other than the Tree shark and the smaller 125 grain landshark they cut the same.I like the price of the glue ons best.RC
Nice shot R.C.!Perhaps she ate her last peanut?
" Luck "..... Luck is where preperation meets opportunity !
Congrats on a full freezer and great season thus far RC. Thanks for sharing, educating us, and entertaining us ! :notworthy:
