Finally had a chance to get to the range and shoot my new Rose Oak Puma Hunter. Promised I'd post some Chronograph results so here we go.
Bow is a 60" Puma Hunter rated 49#'s @ 27". I draw an exact 27". Used 3 arrows with and average weight if 494 Grains so that it just over 10 grains per inch of draw. Shot each arrow 4 times with an average speed of 170 FPS, highest speed was 173 FPS. Forgot my lighter Carbons at home though.
Here are some more pics I took at the range. Beautiful bow, have to get used to the grip though as I am used to shooting my longbows.

Very nice indeed.

Very nice bows and respectable speed, not a burner by any means. Speed is over-rated, is it quiet and do ya hit well with it? That is what is important. Shawn
-
very nice..thats pretty fast for 10gr and 27" draw
-
Nice bow for sure. I checked out there website and found his prices are not so bad either.
-
actually, it is a speed demon. i just found a recent TBH magazine with a puma bow review. at 9gr/lb and 28"draw it shoots high 190.
-
At 10gr/lb. and a 27" draw length 170 fps is great.
Enjoy that beautiful bow :)

My Wildcat T/D will hit low 190s with 9 grns a pound at 28" draw. I have some easton axis arrows that will come in at 8 grns a pound and will chrono it tomorrow. I keep saying this in every post where these bows are mentioned but I really don't think there is a faster, quite and more well mannered bow out there. I enjoy making bows myself and sell alot of my own bows and I think these Rose Oak bows are a real jem. I don't know of any bows on the market right now that look and perform as well at such a great price. You can get a plain bow for about $450, a nice custom bow for under $600 and a blow your mind full custom for under $800. If anyone out there is looking to try a new bow for the upcoming year check out Brandons website, he's a sponsor here. Feel free to pm me for more info. I have a 1 piece and a t/d. Mike

Just have to appreciate the great craftmanship in the bow, it has both the looks and the performance. Nice grouping, too.

Beautiful bow and nice group (move your sight pin up a tad, you're grouping high ;) ).
I've never chronographed my Super Shrew Samurai. Visually (flat trajectory) and results on game tell me I have more than enough speed.
Congratulations on your new bow!

I have a Puma Hunter 51#228" that Brandon made to look like a vintage Hoyt. Pau Ferro riser with Paduak strips - Black glass front and back with blk. and white overlays. Great looking bow and a good shooter. I shoot 2117 shafts with 175 grain field tips. Don't have a chrono, but can tell you it seems to shoot those shafts as fast or faster than my Fedora with 2016s.
As too his skill, I think his wormanship is first rate and his pricing is fair.

Nice bow Bucknort..very pretty.
I hope you are as happy with yours as I am with mine.
Thank you for taking the time to chrono it.
-
Does anyone know if the grips are the same between the Puma Hunter and King Panther with only the length and riser shape being the difference? Thanks.
-
When I was at Brandon's, all the bows had a similar shaped (high wrist) type grip. I don't know if they are all exactly the same though.
I went to see him specifically so that I could get the grip I wanted and Brandon was very accomodating.
I'm pretty sure he can customize a grip for you if you let him know your needs.

Thanks Marblesonac.

I love it, but may send it back to have a little material taken off the throat. A little large for my small hands. Wish I could draw it back a little further to get a little more oomph out of each arrow. Guess I'll need to have my arms lengthened also;)

that sure is a nice looking bow ............. its fast enough too .......... an arrow can only go thru a deer ONCE!!!! ........... no matter how fast it travels
