Is anyone using Hush Puppy string silencers with their SilentButDeadly skinny strings?
If so, what techniques are you using to attach them?
I tried installing them on a new SBD 8 strand tying them in at 4 points per silencer and gluing the knots carefully...Twist level must not be enough because it doesn't look like they are gonna hold right.
I'm a novice, I must be doing something wrong...

you need to unstring the bow and carefully split the string putting the hush pups through add some twist then restring. you can now shoot and try them at different places to get the best sound reduction. and then if you need to you can add serving to them to hold in place when unstrung

That is pretty much what I did when I installed them. But it seems like with they are not filling into the ball shape ("seam" showing). When I twist the string more it seems to help but then I ended up with too high of a brace height...
I think it is the string construction, less strands, less resistance.
I was just wondering if anyone had any special techniques or tips or experiences about installing these on skinny strings.
I've used them on skinny strings and just followed the instructions. After letting them sit for 24 hours on a strung bow and then shooting it after that for awhile mine closed up nicely and stayed put. I don't tie them in.

I also followed the instructions that came with the package.
I think I will have to play around with it a little more. Maybe after shooting the bow more they will fill in more. I also squeezed them closer together.
They definitely made the bow quieter already.
Shoot ing will close them up. Might take a few days depending on how much you shoot it.

Farmer Marley, I know this isn't what Terry's directions state, but I have been accused of being oppositional defiant anyway.
For those of you that don't know, that is the term used for a bad kid these days in school that needs his behind warmed with a board.
I split the hush puppies and tie them in the middle with dental floss into little bundles. I place a bundle in the string, skip a strand, place another bundle, skip a strand add another and so on until I feel I have enough in the string to do the job. I can add or remove the little bundles early in the process. After you have shot it quite a bit, removal is not as easy.
With my Acadian Woods Treestick and my skinny SBD string, I have very few bundles. It is extremely quiet.

Just wanted to post an update on this one. I have continued shooting my Predator Classic with my new 8 strand SBD skinny string and the Hush Puppies have filled in great!! No seam showing. I am very happy with the silencing too, much quieter than with my previous silencers.
I already ordered some more for my other bows.
