I am 6 foot tall and 220 pounds and I want to order a pullover , I don't know if I should order (28oz)wool of the XL or XXL ,Do they run small or are they average. I would wear of fleece or wool shirt underneath. Can you guys give me some help on this? What size has worked for you. I don't need it before Christmas,I've just been wanting to get a couple of them for the past year . I have some other wool stuff ,And I'm just wearing them out and I need some more. So I can carry my New Griffin in style !
Thanks for your help
Carl
I have 2 and they run a little big.
xl should work fine for you. I wear a 2xl and I'm 50 pounds heavier. Give Teresa a call. She is always happy to answer questions but she is not easy to catch during the winter months(Jan.Feb.and March).
Carl- I would say XL would be fine. I am about the same size as you and I have a vest that's an XL. I can layer under it, or either use it underneath, or outside my fleece and wool jackets when it gets real cold. If you call Theresa she will set you straight also. Brian
Do they also come with a liner in the pullover with a hood ?
I have e-mail them , and called them , But I haven't gotten any response the first time I tried this year in October , I did that again just this week ,Still waiting I imagine their busy
Thanks
Carl
Teresa makes them a bit oversized to allow for layering. At your height and weight, I would say an xl would be fine. I'm almost 6'2" and weigh 250#. My xl is fits fine over merino wool base layer. My 2xl fits over a double base layer and still allows for a vest underneath if it is really cold or windy. Mike
But remember that if you get bigger, the wool doesn't. Teresa was kind enough to point that out to me! :D
2 XL is what you need.
God bless,Mudd
OK, I just finished talking to Teresa, very pleasant to visit with, and the conversation went a little bit longer when I told her I was born and raised in the woods of Michigan. She suggested that I would need the XL, of course I ordered the Mackinaw. And also a vest with a hood. And I wanted to order a second Mackinaw, but I will wait until I get the other one. I had her put an extra layer in the lower section of the back, because I've had back surgery five times, and it helps to keep my backside really warm. Stinking arthritis ! It's always good to order from someone like the Asbell's
Thanks for all your help
Carl
Hey deerspotter,
I'm about your size.
I just got a windblocker vest from them...really like it.
I ordered a XXL.
It looked really big...but...
It was perfect fit over my underlayers.
One thing that you must consider is that it is a PULL-OVER..no zipper.
You need some extra room built in to get it on and off easily.
Good luck!
I'm 6' and 215..kinda wide shoulders. I founs an XL to be a bit big so I washed and dries it onhigh heat. Perfect after that. I wear woool base layers and a vest underneath
I'm about 215lbs and 6'1"...I have one of each...XL and XXL..... I wear the XXL if I want to wear anything underneath, the XL is just to tight while shooting with just a t shirt under it! I could never really wear it in a hunting situation, the XXL is perfect for Hunting. Plus its longer in the sleeves and the waist which is good for the cold weather!
I'm 6'2" and 230# and xl is perfect!!
5" 10" 185........large with just a shirt under it. XL I can wear long john top and a sweater with no problem.I would at least 2 XX if I were you!
I weigh 225 at 5'9 and have a 42 inch waist. I have an XL and it works well size-wise.
I'm 6'3" @265 and the 2X is BIG on me. Makes me look like........
Well, we won't go there :)
I'm 6' and 224 lbs, workout regularly and have fairly even proportions -- I found the Large works just fine for me given they're sized a bit big to allow for layering. This weekend I wore it with a synthetic base layer, two lightweight merino wool layers and the Asbell wind blocker. Was still a bit loose, didn't interfere with shooting, etc. I wouldn't call it 'snug' at all, it fit just right even with all the other stuff on under it.
I ordered the XL, and I will probably order my next one in XXL, I just want to see how they fit first, this one will be for early season, the next one I order will be for late season so I can layer.
Thanks
Carl
I'm looking forward to slipping one over my head...but I'm sure having a hard time connecting with their office. {Yes admin...I've been patient as instructed} :dunno:

I've been calling the number on their website for some time (at least since mid-November!). No one answers the phone, it goes directly to voice mail...and today the message box was full and I was instructed to 'hang up'. Heck, I've even started using mouthwash when I call...it isn't working. :dunno:

They have been at a big show. You'll get it.
When they get home, they will cal. Integrity is part of who they are.
No worries gentlemen, I'm sure they will get back to you. My wife ordered me a XL for Christmas and I ended up asking to trade it for an XXL (I'm 6' 200) as I know that I will be layering underneath that thing in NY. :)
Anyway, I called shortly after Christmas and it took a couple weeks but they got back to me. Remember too that they were just at K-Zoo and their table was one of the busiest so I'm sure they are recovering. :)
Teresa just sent me an email....aside from getting re-orgnized and caught up from Kalamazoo, they are both down with what sounds like the flu. Be patient.
Teresa and Fred are real good folks and definately not commercial hype. I met them both at Kzoo and even though I was coughing extensively and could hardly talk, they both took the time to work patiently with me. I bought a few items from them and found all of them to run in size as described. I have also found Teresa to be extremely quick to respond via email in the past.
I'm the same as Buckeye.a great stature for strong winds! Teresa made me an XL with L arms,as my appeditures (ALL!) are on the shorter size.Fits like a glove.
I ordered one last thursday, She shipped it on Saturday. Pretty hard to beat that. God Bless
Hi I am 5'6" and weight 148 I have a Med and it is really comfortable. In fact I am on tradgang wearing my Asbell wool pull over and watching "stick bow close" hummm I should go out side and shoot.
Im 6'3" 265 and I have a 2x hooded vest. Look like Fred Flintstone in it!! Sure is warm tho.......
I tried several on at ETAR and found that the chest was fine but the arms for me seem smaller than I wanted ...I am 6'1" and 245 so I am seriously looking at min of XXl.
