Great story, but I sure am glad we got to here it here first
Cool beans. Barry is the man.
Nice job and big congrats to Barry.
:archer:
Great Job Barry, they sure grow em big in Iowa. It sure is a blessing to be able to watch them grow over the years. In Michigan if they don't get shot, they get killed by vehicles on the roads.
I figured some may have missed his story. Heck I enjoyed reading the story and pictures again.
Wow,great buck! Always impressed with the Wensels. I am a bit confused though. If Gene and Barry are twins, how come Gene is so much better lookin? The check had better be in the mail!lol.
Is this in or going to be in the Field and Stream magizine? What issue? Good job Barry!
Great buck  Great man  CONGRATS :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
:notworthy:
Those Iowa bucks the past few years that they both have shot are just incrediable. I hope that there are a few more out there for them to chase.
Nice, congrats
Impressive.
He is one of my favorite characters in the game
Congrats
WOW!!!
Fantastic stuff!
Great story and awesome deer, well done Sir Barry!
I didnt see what issue it would be in. F&S has a subscription special out now. It's$10.00 for 1 year and $15.00 for two years. There is some good articles in their mag on camping and occasionally some traditional stuff.
Congrats to the Super Gentleman!
How the Heck do you sleep till the season knowing these Big Bucks are hanging in your area?WOW Great ending to a HUNT.CONGRATS.
Man, that's cool! Grats to the man!
Absolutely awesome story! It's really great when a hunter can zero in on one buck and be patient enough year after year to see it through.
Thanks for sharing.
what a great story, and hunter!! Cant wait to get my hands on another one of their awesome books!
Congratulations Barry!!!
Impressive is an understatement.
Thanks for all the nice comments. I really appreciate that. My quest for Hurley will always remain one of my best memories. And to answer a common question, yes we only found one of his sheds in all those years. But we also found human boot prints where there weren't supposed to be any. BW
Great Buck Better Story! My hats off to you! :notworthy: :clapper:
Many CONGRATS to Barry!
Was wondering if cementum annuli method was used to determine age.... Thanx
Very nice,congrats!
This is one of my favorite deer hunting stories. Barry deserved this buck..not just because he worked hard to get him, but because he truly appreciates the animal. I have never had the chance to hunt the same buck for three years, but I gotta be honest, if I did...it would have been very easy to give up. Trying to take a specific deer is as difficult as it gets. I sure hope I am still at it when I get to be Gene and Barrys age. By the way Barry, how the hell did you drag that big boy out of the woods? I assume you made Gene do it since he's younger!
Great Story !!!
