So my bow collection has gotten a little larger recently and it just seems like I always have a bow that I "need" to practice with. Not to mention my favorite bow, a Bama Custom draws 80# and I love to shoot it. Anyway, Ive sort of worn myself out and need to take a break from shooting. So I decided to refinish my baby cause its the only thing that will keep me from shooting it :biglaugh: I still have meat in the freezer from the PA red tag season and the farmer whos land I hunt just slaughtered a bunch of animals and gave me enough protein to last till arbor day. Not to mention I cant fit another thing in my freezer. So I cant morally take a deer when the larder is full right? So no shooting till the finish job is done and no hunting till Ive eaten all this meat. Man I got it rough.
Must be awful  :archer:
What an awful problem to have...not! :wavey: :archer:
My joints are wincing over pulling 80#. Shouldn't have any problem with pass thrus on deer...anyway enjoy the refinish project.
Sure sounds like tough times. :bigsmyl:
I'm also refinishing a Bama Hunter I bought used, and a Pronghorn, and a Pearson Ambusher, with a Beeler up next. I'm keeping busy while recovering from a motorcycle accident. After those bows are done I'll be doing up some woodies and a dozen bamboo arrows. I love this stuff!
I can't shoot many arrows yet, but I'm thinking about taking one of my longbows for a walk in the woods next week scouting for winter bow. Gotta get out.
The best part is I decided to refinish my bow with some water proof spar urethane I had left over from some wood arrows. Going on day 6 now and its still tacky and only one coat on the back!! Darn it.
You poor soul!
