Gotta get a new string for my Mohawk. What do you string Guru`s recommend? I want the most performance I can get with quietness of course.Thanks,RC.
Oh yea...where do I get it?Thanks,RC
450+ i found meets both those needs, made by Oliverstacy
RC I just put new ones on 2 of my 'Hawks. They're Brownell Ultra Cams from Tollgate Bowhunting Supply. They are Sponsors here. I ordered them from George on a Sunday I had them Tuesday. I also have used SBD. Never used Oliver Stacy yet. Folks say nothing but good things about him. Most Folks like the 450+ though. Whatever floats your boat.
you could get an SBD from Braveheart Archery.
New sponsor here Flemish Traditional Sports make what your looking for, very good quality string. Get both performance and quite.
RC,I dont think it is the performance string you want but I have a string built for a 64" mohawk you are welcome to if you want it. It is a 14 strand B-50.....it's Christmas colors...red and green.

There's no "one size fits all" answer. Generally speaking, there's not going to be a nickle's difference in materials in equally well-made strings--assuming proper nock fit, tuning, silencer placement, etc.
But...there are always exceptions to the rules. Once in a while you'll run across a bow that just "likes" one material over another--no idea why--and the only way to find out is to experiment.
I've had the best luck with Formula 8125 and Dynaflight '97, 10-14 strands, with the loops padded to 18 or so.
Chad
Astroflight 12 strands(60# bow or less) fast and quiet.
Agree with Jesse, Braveheart archery can't be beat for customer service. You can order an SBD string and get it in 3 days. Plus their prices are right.
I've only used SBD and Flemish traditional sports strings they are the best of the best IMHO.
There are many fine string makers on here, I have had first hand experience with Oliverstacy and it has been positive all the way.
I can definitely vouch for LBR's (Chad's) strings.
I agree with Chad. I like D97. I build my own though, so I can't help with who builds the best. I've heard nothing but good about both Chad's Champion Custom Bowstrings and Oliverstacy's as well. I don't think you could go wrong with either.
Thanks for the good word men!
I want to clarify on something I said--I mean there usually isn't much if any noticeable difference in the HMPE (Fast Flight type) materials. There can be a big difference when swapping from dacron to an HMPE material.
Chad
SBD makes a great string as does Chad and Oliverstacy. I've become partial to D10 and as was stated earlier, Braveheart keeps SBD strings in stock with great customer service.
On all my longbows I use 12 strands of D97 made by Chad. He makes one fine string!
