Hey gang i could sure use your input.I recently aquired an old 50's Ben Pearson Colt recurve 60" 40# @28 and has no shelf cut into the riser, just a small shelf intigrated in with the grip wrap.Ive tried several over spine shafts with not much luck,do i need to go under spine?
Sorry guys its a pony not a colt, all the other info is correct.
I'm just speculating here, but I'll bet if you measure the distance from center to the outside surface of the bow where the arrow rests and plug that into Stu's calculator the answer will come out pretty soft spined.
I would try 1816 or 1916. My money is on the 1816. Good luck.
If you're shooting wood, I'd got with 125 gr points and 40-45# spine, cut to 29". Work down in length from there.
Thanks for the info guys.My starting point was 50-55 cedars ,that was the lightest i had.Im gonna try to round up some 40-45s and go from there. Many thanks.
