Man it was a cold morning! I even took my sleeping bag today and was glad I had it.
I recently had to drop down a few pounds on my bows because of health reasons and have ended up shooting in the lower 50's. I thought I would give 2 blade broadheads another try so I looked around and decided on the good old Ace broadheads that have been around for ever. They make the Express in a 200gr model which are very easy to sharpen and what I like to shoot up front on my Doug Fir arrows that weight in at 618gr

I love fall colors....
No Ben, I didn't have any trouble or paint coming off at all. Good luck!
Thanks everybody for the nice comments and following along. She's all butchered up and in the freezer!
I put up one of my big blinds in a new spot today were there's been a ton of deer traffic and a lot of buck picks. It's getting pretty darn cold and it was nice to sit in it tonight.

I passed up a couple more young bucks tonight and drilled a racoon that I called in. I will take some picks tomorrow the skin, flesh and stretch the hide.
Tracy
WOW  What a bloodtrail !!!
Bill
Good shooting Tracy and congrats on a fine doe. I just this year decided to go with the ACE 175grn head on my doug fir arrows. I found that they sharpen up quick and hold a nice edge.
Way to go buddy!! :bigsmyl:
Oh sure!! Now the bucks start coming around.
Good shooting as always bud! Which bow is that?
It's the Mohawk Charlie, The BBO has problems again. She's a grumpy old gal! :bigsmyl:
Tracy
That was some great pictures. Thank you.
Arthur
Congrats! I used those this year as well and I really like how they performed. I made a poor shot but found my buck about 125 yards later. Big cut, easy sharpening and fly good.
Nice!!
I would not shoot those heads.
Blood trailing is one of my favorite and fulfilling tasks and find this one not to be as such.
Great job and fascinating blood trail.
Would be interested in your comments regarding the blood painted tree.
I like those pics taken from ground level.
Nice broadhead choice!
Wow that is a massive blood trail. Bet she didn't make it far. Congrats!
That is quite a blood trail!! Congrats!!!
Very nice! Well done!
Thanks everybody!
Scott, The tree's with the blood on them are just her running by with blood soaked hair on her sides and you can see in the picks how covered they were. She was a bloody mess!
By the way this doe made it alot farther then I thought she would but she was hauling butt and never stopped till she hit the ground dead, 200yds away. I got to see almost the whole run.
Tracy
I have a few of the wide ace heads in single bevel I`m gonna give a try. Congrats.RC
Cool Tracy! Nice pics, too.
I really like the pic with the Bloody Arrow!
Look at the background, the wide variety of color, leaves. You have a nice mix of woods, there!
Can you identify 4 or more? :)
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
Here's the raccoon I called in and shot last night :D
(http://i904.photobucket.com/albums/ac248/TmPotter47/r1.jpg)
You bet I can Frank!
Go easy on them RC :D I would like to see the final picks when you post them.
Tracy
how do ya call a coon?
I called him in squeaking like a mouse Brayant
Same way I call in alot of critters!
Tracy
To me the lil squeak is better than the hideous sounds some electronic callers make. They only gotta hear you, not get blown outta their fur! Great job Tracy!!
Great pic Bud! Glad you didn't have to climb :)
