Had no real intentions of buying another bow, but think Widow will let me keep the PLX they sent me to try?? :D That try before you buy program can be pretty expensive... :banghead:
Ha, I went to Wes wallaces House! Spent about 2K  :knothead: But I got some pertty toys a coming. That said Black widows have always been on my mind. I'll buy one on of these days. The last one I had I gave to this Smokin hot girl friend I had in Michigan about 30 years ago! I sure miss that Bow  :banghead:
Yep Black widows are great bows. If I was a big recurve fan I would probably own at least one of each model, but I really like longbows and for me the Tomahawk bows just fit my hand better.
i am lucky enough to be a couple hours drive from Nixa. i have spent hours upon hours shooting bows they have hanging, when ya walk in the door and see 50+ bows hanging on the wall and you can shoot any and all, it is REALLY difficult to walk away from that without buying something
I agree Dave my family and I drive up to the whiteriver and Branson quite often to flyfish. I have been up there a couple of times and they are the some of the most friendly people to be around.
I'm really afraid to step into that shop...
It is pretty eye opening to go to the Asbell shooting clinic. Almost more bows than you can imagine and who knows how many arrow combinations to try. And great folks.
You gotta watch them Widow boys for sure. They knew what they were doing with the "Test Drive" program!
Yup great customer service as well!! I bet they willlet ya keep it and just put 1100 on your credit card. Nice folks for sure! Shawn
I'll bet you can keep it....but $1100 may not be enough....lol!
I had a great deal on a PSA V, it is a great bow... I need to shoot it more and make some DF arrows for it!
There is always one for sale in the classified and some time, like the one I got, was like new, never shot!! for about half the price!!!
Which PLX are you working with? ... Er, I mean, which PLX is working on you??? :biglaugh:
I had a really light test model that I liked quite a bit. But, it wasn't exactly what I would have ordered, so the BW guys told me to be patient, send it back, and order exactly what I wanted. I was patient, found some beautiful spalted sycamore veneers, and took the plunge. Cost me an arm, a leg, and several expensive dates with my wife after she found out! :jumper:
The bow was pretty expensive. BUT... I am not a bow trader, and don't buy and sell them much. I plan on keeping and shooting this one for the rest of my life. The PLX, in my preference and opinion, is the finest of its class.

I would of been ok with a 1 pc. plII or III but they sent me a TD bacote, Toby's grip, beavertail wrap. 53#@28 - seems like it smokes an arrow.
I test drove a PAX (Cocobolo) this past winter. I had to wait for the LH bow I wanted to test drive for it to return from Kalamazoo.
I shot the bow for 45 minute at my house and called Widow. They sold me that very bow over the phone.
This particular bow had a date of 2008 and had probably been on the test drive rack a while. However, the bow was perfect. The best I could tell it had only been shot by Astronauts, Philanthropists, and War Heroes --the typical LH crowd.
I have PSAIII, PCHX and this PAX. The 1-piece PAX is my favorite as long as I keep a TD (or a few) for traveling.
I've test drove 4 bows; Widow, Silvertip, Robertson, and Super Wildcat. Bought em all. I have to be VERRRRY careful test-driving. In fact, the test drive has never failed to sell me on the bow! I need to test drive an ugly, too heavy, noisy one just so I can have the pleasure of sending one back without buying!
Finding the one thru 'Try Before You Buy' programs is not gambling nor even a calculated risk.
You will know!!
Nice looking Widow there........umm, maybe I should get another......good luck to all.
