I know,I know,you want see the pics,story is following!
Well,I am been working this place almost new to me for 2 months, the guys with dogs aren't permitted to enter the area for now because one gunner shot a person passing buy,so they stopped all the activity with the guns;this is good because the wild boar are increased in number(quite a lot)and they are more predictable since they aren't spooked everyday by the hounds.
I killed a bigger one in OCT,I posted that story here back then, but not been able to score on another one. I have spent 5 or 6 afternoon there without seeing anything, they looked to come much later. One night I saw 2 nice ones but my friend made some noise when I was going to draw my bow and they were gone! :knothead:
They were coming from a very thick ticket going to water and wallow on a nearby creek. This area is one hour drive from home so I can hunt it on the afternoon because my dayly business.
yesterday night I arrived a little bit late, but stil one hour before dark and I found a hidding place in the high grass on a very steep rise.

Keep the details coming Felix!!
Congratulations Felix! Nice one!
I was getting ready when i heard some noises coming from my left 5 yards away, fortunatly the wind was right, but the smart leading sow felt something wrong and started to grunt;she was behind some really dense bush with thorns and evergreen. But the rest of the bunch were already in shooting position feeding on some corn that we leave there to stop them for the shot.I had a very good sized one broadside and other 3 smaller coming to the party.I lost few second afraid to move and spook the still hidden one.But she was moving keeping calling the rest and they went away before I was ready to shoot, but one,the smaller kept feeding,he gave me a very severe angle quartering away, but was then or never!

The arrow was on the air,and altrhoug its heavy weight,680 grs,it covered the 15 yards in less than a heartbeat. As the pig took the arrow he run in the opposite direction of the rest of his group,he stopped for a couple of second behind some bush and then come back in the opposite direction, fast but not on a death run.
I could see the arrow sticking on his back;I figured to have a ham hit with a high enter point and not pass through=troubles. :knothead:
So I was thinking that I couldn't expect any blood trailing, also if the big 250 VPA Terminator is one heck of a broadhead!
This is the same point that knocked down my last 150# sow, making a disaster on her and letting her go for only 30 yards.I won those 1 1/4" BHs at the ST Judes auction, they have some Mojo and luch glued on! :readit:
I waited a little bit, then I went to call my friend and after 40 min.we started tracking.....
No need,as soon we entered the trail with the the flashlights on, a bright reflective wrap, from Onestringer, indicated a downed boar, just 20 yards from the hit :jumper: :jumper: :archer2:
Good job! :archer2:
Great hunt and great shot! Thanks for sharing! :campfire:
Way to go Felix!!
Way to go sir!!
The arrow,My Eritage 250 with 70grs inserts and 250 grs Terminator, entered closer to the rib cage of what it looked in the begining,I was afraid of a ass shot,it entered breaking the last ribs taking the liver destroing both lungs and cutting the top of the heart. :scared: The powerful Zipper SXT 57# made a great job, also the ribs on the other side were broken and the poit stucked against the oposite shoulder blade.
I am always impressed how efficent our equipment is,also after so many years with the bow in my hands. This is my second pig with this Zipper,i killed another one previously this year, but I wasn't able to find it right aways,it was laying 2 yards from me but in the dark I couldn't find it.My friend found it the next morning but he didn't took any pics, but he gave me the meat already packed! :)So I really wanted to send Bill a pic of a boar taken in Italy with one of his fantastic recurves! :saywhat:
Thanks everyone!
Everybody is more than welcome to come over and taste some roast and a hunting experience in my side of the traditional world!
Nicely done Felix!
