Title: stalker longbows
Post by: thunder1 on December 03, 2011, 07:12:00 PM
Guys want to hear from those that have had their hands on one of the Stalker longbows. I'm thinking of getting one but I don't know a soul that have ever shot one of the recurves let alone a longbow. Pics would alt be welcome. My knowledge base on longbows would be Schafer, Hummingbird, A n H acs, Morrison shawnee and Shrew. Thanks

I have never heard of Stalker until about 2 months ago when the St Judes bows came out. I am currently shootin "Hope" which is a Custom Tracker 3 piece longbow by Stalker Recurves. I have had this bow for 10 days and have already taken a nice buck and had a robin hood. I think they are great longbows - if you like longbows with a recurve style handle. Check out the following for my reports on the Stalker longbow (read all my posts starting on page nine and going through page 11):

If I was to order one it be would a 3 piece. If used it doesn't matter.

South's bows are usually much prettier than this, but this is what I wanted. Great grip, very smooth, excellent workmanship.

Owlbait, your bow and arrows are a good match. You sure like colors. I like.

Steve, what kind of woods are in your bow and what arrows are you shooting?

Although I don't own one, I was fortunate enough to get to shoot one of his prototypes.  I loved the way it shot.  It had a smooth draw, pointed well, and had little to no vibration.

I was fortunate enough to harvest this billy before having to send the bow back.

Aloha!

After shooting the prototype,  my hunting partner ordered one for his water buffalo hunt in June 2012.  It's the second bow from the left.
