Got a question for those familiar with Jack's Kwyk Styk recurves..
..For someone with a 29.75" draw length, could he get away with a 56"er or would a 58"er be the way to go? The bow would be used for bowhunting from tree stands and shots are basically 20 yards and in...not much of a target shooter, so a shorter bowhunting bow is the interest.
Thanks, Mike
You could get away with the 56"er, the way Jack measures his bows my 56"er was 57" AMO as are others I know of and I owned 2 with 3 sets of limbs. That said the extra 2"s would not matter from a treestand and as with most longer bows will not be as critical of release. I had people shoot mine who drew 30"s and they had no problem with them stacking or pinching with the static limbs. Shawn
My 54" Kwyk Styk will draw to 30" with no hint of stack.....
I shot a 56" at my 30" draw and had no issues. I should have bought that bow. Live and learn.
56" with Static tips will pull smooth to 30". Great choice for tree stand hunting. Same with the Raven.
What Joe said!
I have a 56" Raven you would have no problem. ITs a great bow!
Thanks for the replies. I got a 58"er coming this week. Kinda wanting a 56er, but as rare as these are, I didn't want to pass on it...plus it's a beaut!
Mike
Hey Mike just for what's it's worth, I've owned both a 56 and a 58 incher. Both are super shooters but to be honest I shot the 58 just a tad better. But not by much. I think you will pleasantly surprised on your acquisition.
Best of luck and enjoy.
