 x2
Douglas fir.
Doug Fir is good but I've had some raw shafts that were a bit on the brittle side. Sitka is light and makes a dandy 3D arrow. Chundoo is a good tough heavier arrow, and of course Ash is outstanding if tough and heavy is what you want. But all things considered, in the end it's still darned hard to beat PO Cedar.
Hickory
Bamboo is thee best bar none, but unfortunately its a plant.
Surewood Shafts = Doug Fir

Poplar is my favorite.
Douglas fir.
Another for Doug Fir...
....and Douglas Fir is the winner! :clapper: :clapper:
I think the best wood is the one that gets you where you want to be for spine and weight.

Agree with this, a lot depends on the final weight you want too.
NOT a good poll - too many other good woods and grass shafting left out!
Rob, you should do a poll with it all included so we can find out once and for all
Douglas fir
Light tapered spruce
Medium Douglas fir
Douglas fir

I think you mean bamboo is a GRASS. Both bamboo and Doug Fir are plants. Sorry if I sound like a jerk. Not meaning to.
Surewoods I like so thats my vote but what about the christmas trees? That will be next first it was the owls and then it will be christmas tress?
I guess get them while we can. There is plenty of other woods thats true but what do we like? I just started shooting them this year and they really have beautiful grain in them as well.

Tapered surewood doug fir
Whatever it is Straight Grain :readit:
I've shot cedar and sitka spruce. Not very thrilled with durability of either. WHat would be the most durable wood arrow shaft material?

Douglas Fir for me as well.
Barrel tapered ash... :readit:
I voted Ash but I really like the birch as well.
It kinda depends on the bow type and draw weight I am after. Some bows need different ammo. That Doug Fir is hard to beat for a one size fits all arrow for me though. Best of all worlds.

I like my doug fir shafts, but woud like to try some tappered ash shafts next year.
Doug fir for me as well.
hickory
I'd have to say DF as well!!
