Went out this morning Sneeking in my first stand a small dich between almond orchards. get there and I think I see somthing down the ditch bank maybe 300 yards. Looked again and its gon. Dang bet it was a coyote. Then the crows and magpies start to go nuts in that direction. I sneek that way staying low in the ditch. Get there and theres something in the row that looks like a log but I can see ears I think. Its close to 150 yards out . I sneek out of the ditch and use the trees to hide me as Im walking up on this thing. Get to 50 yards and its is a coyote looks like its out cold but you can see it flip its tail and ears sometimes. On my hands and knees now . The crows are still going bonkers. Get to 25-30 yards and it sits up. I try to get ready and it jumps up and trots my way about 20 feet stops and is looking my way but not at me .The arrow is on its way I do not remember shooting it just happen. The coyote jumps spins and takes off.It vanishes . Dang I miss. Went to get my arrow and can't find it. But did find lots of this stuff.

Hit the shoulder and came out in front of the oposite hind leg . He still went about 70 yards.
The arrow must of hit some small branches or somthing I was looking at his center of his chest ,he must of turned to get hit on the side.
Heck I can't remember.
Good shooting and not everyday you can sneak up on a coyote....Well done!
Great shot congrats
 Next time it'll be a deer. Go get 'em. :archer2:
Congrats on that sneak
Very nice stalk and good shot. Thanks for sharing.
:clapper:
Good one !
Congrats!
:notworthy: You are the best coyote hunter I have ever seen, bar none! Coyotes are undoubtedly one of the most, if not THE most, difficult game animals to bag with the trad bow. Especially by stalking!
My hat's off to you, sir!
Nice shot, congrats.Did you found out what it was looking about?(coyote and crows)
Awesome!!
:clapper: :clapper:

:clapper:
Congrats! Way to go.
nice!
Thumper, you would clean up on the local whitetail. I have had a dozen tries with a recurve at coyotes over the years and have two hits. I had one I swear was four feet in the air straight up above my shot by the time the arrow arrived. Talk about jumping the string!
I pinballed an arrow in saplings this year on one that went into turbo boost when I made a little "tap" noise bumping a branch with a bow limb as I drew back.
You are certainly doing something right. :clapper:
Nice job!
Awesome! :clapper: :clapper:
My compliments to you...you are a for sure coyote killin' machine!
Travis
Excellent job. Putin the sneak on yote is not easy. Nice shot.
Awesome!
Ratslayer They like to chew and tear up the irigation drip lines and chew up the sprinklers. They can do hundreds of dollares of damage in one night playing with the drip lines ect. We have a ton of coyotes here. I do not shoot any thing just for fun.
Out wiled ol wiley himself, good job!
Maybe he's a hell of a lot better than you . I've missed 2 and I have shot way more than a few months.
:notworthy: How many coyotes have you shot with trad equipment?

i would say there alot like a normal dog and there habits! a yote chewing on plastic, or anything else wouldnt be no different than my lab chewing up my water hose!(ive had to replace my water hose twice!)lol
Congrats, perfect shot! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys and mods.
did not get to congratulate you , Tim , as I was too mad my last post. You must be faster than lightening....'cause them coyotes are fast as
Sweet! Glad this is back up, it's way too good of a story to be lost because of ignorance.
