Went to shoot this morning and this is what I found, I've had a couple targets over the years hit by rutting bucks where they have hit them from the front and raised the front up off the ground but nothing like this. Both legs were out of the body of the deer and one side of the antlers was laying 15 feet away, also broke the ear off and I found it 5 feet away. This was a new target too, wish I could have seen the "fight".
I started removing the antlers during the Fall and had no more problems with targets getting attacked.
I read a thread one time about a concrete deer that got knocked over and broken.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!
set him back up and put out a trail cam overlookin the target
it would be fun to see the buck that was giving the butt whippin
I have a buddy that had one hit as well. He could see the tine punctures. Good luck getting the big guy back for all that damage.
Last target we had thrashed in the yard was from a grizzly bear.....guess you could consider yourself lucky. :readit: :biglaugh:
had that happen last year also with mine. this year he got 2 of my pine tree s. pay back coming( i hope) :scared:
Thats cool. It is that time of year.......
I came home on Thanksgiving day late from my folks house to find two bucks fighting in the backyard! They were little guys and more sparring than fighting, but it was still cool!
How neat is that!
At our 3D club we always set the range the day before the event and had several targets (animals) damaged by deer. During the rut one year we had the leggs broken down on a doe target.
Well I put the target back up and put another target without antlers by the buck, put a trail camera up and hope I get some pics of the buck thats visiting my targets.
Actually I recall years ago where a buck tangled with a cement statue, locking antlers sort of, and the statue tipped over and broke the deer's neck, killing it. I remember seeing the pictures.
What I don't get, is how come those bucks can't be that dumb when I'm hunting them? :)
Would have been fun to watch.
