Hello there guys, thought id share some recent success.
Well my entire family (distant and close) was sitting in the dining room, throwing bad on some serious vitals when my uncle looked out the window and said "Dang man, look at that thing!"
At the top of my yard, in the hardwoods i see a critter that we all love to chase, just easing alog pillaging what was left of the acorns. I wasnt surprised, even though it was in my yard, but my uncle was suprised being a "city slicker". Well he looked at me, knowing im a die hard bowhunter and said, "i bet you cant put an arrow in that thing with your stick!" i laughed and said probly not, but ill give er' a try!
Luckily i was already in my favorite hunting shirt, a red plaid collared shirt, and i always just feel deadly in it. I grabbed an orange hat because its gun season here. My weapon of choice was easy, i grabbed my recently aquired Howatt Hi-Speed. I just recently reciedved this little sweetheart from our very on Mr. Dannybows. (More on it later)
Well with a crowd of family members watching, slowly make my way towards the beast. I kept a tree between me and his head, and i was astonished that he never even noticed my encroachment. I closed to 17 yards by some miracle (the wind must have helped) and waited. Finally i got a good angle towards his vitals.
I slowly came to full draw, picked out a hair and reased, i watched a beautiful burst of color (Dannybows has magnificent taste in arrows) arc and bury just exactly where i was looking. The animal did not go far, just around a a couple of trees, got weak and gave it up.
I grinned, and turned around to give my family the thumbs up! they all were excited to watch such a thing.
i went and recoverd him immediatley, as i watched him go down, drug him down through the yard to a cheerful family. I was in disbelief that i got lucky enough to pull that off. I was absolutely tickled to death. My uncle said "Well i guess you can kill something with that ol curvy stick!"
Now more specifics about the bow, Mr. Dannybows literally blew me away last week. We worked out a deal on this fine bow, I was given a heck of a deal on it, but not only did i recieve the bow for way less than what you would normally pay, Mr. Dannybows through in 14 arrows, points, limb covers, and snake skins. This truely shows the character of the people on this sight, unbelievable. i hope to get to pay it forward in the near future. Thanks again Dan!
This is going to the the winter project, refinishing and skinning this fine killer. Ive never done it before, but im already collecting threads to help out.
Here are some pics, body was a little small, but i garauntee you he'l eat good :bigsmyl:
Specs: Howatt Hi-Speed, #55@ 28, Full length Terminators. I love the fletching.

Well Dalton you completely sucked me into that one! I too was expecting a deer. Well played!
Nice shootin' though, a much harder target than a deer.

The quiver, some rabbit strips and a couple of broadheads are going in the mail tomorrow.
