A buddy at church today showed me this rack from a deer that was found dead this season. About 7 miles from my house. If I ever saw one this big, not sure I'd get the string back, my heart would be pounding so hard. Just for a little perspective, I'm 5'8" and weight 150. Awsome mass all the way out to the end of the beams.

Nice buck! Too bad he won't be around to hunt any more. Hopefully some of his offspring will be. Funny how they can live so long and rarely seen.
-
Whoaaaaaaaaa, that is one real bruiser!!!!
-
WOW!!!!!!!!!! Must be from all that LimeStone "Mineral Water" the deer drink out your way!!!!!
I'd hang that rack over the barn (shed) door in a place of honor so that everyone can see him IMO.
Thanks for sharing your pictures Larry, :bigsmyl:

Run for cover!!!!
What a nice buck he was. Nice thing is, there's part of him very much alive in those antlers and your mind (and in your neighborhood).

I hope thats 7mi east of ya,maybe he got into a lethal fight with a bigger one.LOL Nice buck did you score him I know a couple of P&Y officials in the area that would get a kick out of scoring him. Thanks for the pics

hopefully he spread his genes around before he expired!!!

I'm sure with his age he has several youngsters running around. Incredible buck. Especially for the North East.

Rico, no such luck, south of my house, say pete, next time you're out this way look me up lol.

Larry;
Can I come sleep in your garage during hunting season next year? I'll buy my own groceries.

That's too bad Larry. Bucks with that type of mass are neat.

That's a super nice rack and would make an excellent european mount.
Maybe next year you'll find one of his sons and put your Centuar to good use. ;)
-
Hopefully he did a little "seeding" before he bought the farm...
Nice to know there are genes around....

Ed, I've tried a couple times to get permission to hunt the property he was found on, along with fifty other guys in the area-lol. It's about a 200-300 acre farm that is pretty well guarded, the farmer, his son, the locale sheriff and one other guy are the only ones who hunt it. They never shoot does and only take 120 class bucks or better..seems to be working for them. The son is the only one who bowhunts.
-
Kinda looks like it already IS a Euro mount!
-
What's the inside spread? Did you score him???

Yep thats a nice rack Larry. Tip on boiling the skull. Rap the lower part of the antlers in tin foil to keep it from turning a dark brown when you cook it.
-
Very nice indeed!!Thanx for sharing

WHOAAAAAAAA! NICe racked buck!

Nice buck and I would say he grosses high 140-low 150s. Either way I would shoot him!! Shawn
