I shoot 50lb@29inches on a predator recurve 60" long. Wanted to try a 500 arrow not having very good luck with 400 spine with 100grain insert 145grain head.Just wanted to see if any one had any suggestions on what to try with gold tip 35/55 traditional carbon any in put is appreciated. thanks
My 46@28 predator drawn 28 does well w/35/55's 100gr brass + 125-200gr heads. I think you'll be close.
Thanks that will get me started
With 29 draw you can't cut much, but play with inserts and points. You should find it. Also try some heavier point on those 400s. Maybe 200.
I shoot a 52 lb predator with a 28 inch draw. I shoot a 150 gr head on a GT5575 with insert and extra 20 gr weight. I think they are 31" long...Fly like darts. Also shoot 2117 at 30 inches with 145 or 150 gr head...
I'm not that experienced at arrow tuning, but I just took out my 58" 48# predator classic today to do some bare shaft tuning. At my 28" draw my Beman ICS 400's with 145g points were shooting pretty straight.
Since the risers are close to center on the predators they should shoot a wide range of spines right?
100 grain insert and 200 grain point in the 400's maybe even more
my predators 46# @ 28 drawn to 30 in so 50-52#s
55-75s cut to 31.5 100grain insert 125 heads flys real nice
kevn
I have a 50#@my draw(28"), I shoot 2018 Legacy shafts w/150 grn woodsman. Arrow length is 29". They go where I'm looking  :campfire:
You will do well to take the first advise given! I would say 30" 35/55 with 225 grains of point weight will put ya darn close if not perfect. Shawn
If you're considering aluminums, I second the 2018's. My Predators are 48 and 49#. I use 31.5" Legacys with 125gr. Snuffers or Magnus II's.
If you stay with the 400s cut them to 31"s and shoot at least 325 up front but most likely more like 375. Shawn
