I personally only have about 5 but I really only shoot my Tomahawk. I don't plan on buying anymore bows either unless my T-hawk breaks then I will buy another one if it is out of warranty.
I think I have about 6 plus a couple of extra sets of limbs for 2 of those. Shoot 2 of those 6 most of the time.
Always looking though.
My wife thinks and I know I have a disease.
I think most of us do to some degree.
I had 2 but am down to one until I can make me another one.
Currently...3. An old Bear Kodiak Hunter, an Owl bow, and an ERC selfbow I made. Got a few more hackberry and hickory bows in process.
Recently, sold a Montana, a Bear Hunter Takedown, gave away an old Ben Pearson, and I forget what else.
Want to get: a Northern Mist Shelton and/or a Hill Chetah, and either a Bob Lee takedown or a new Bear Takedown, as well as finish some more selfbows and make a whole bunch more.
I am down to only ten bows.
I am trying to get down to 10. Got a real bad habit. Selling some now on the classifieds.
Matt
Nine at last count... but I'll have to check again tomorrow... They are kinda like rabbits you know, leave them alone for a while and walla there is another one lying there.
Yeah, I know, the wife doesn't buy that line either... ;)
One less than I need.
5 right now. 2 recurves and 3 longbows.
Bill
Two. Both ILF with dryad longbow limbs. Shoot them both. I'll stick with just the 2, so I've told my wife!
i have one-an American Archery Recurve, and one soon to be made, a Siren T/D by Black Creek.
I have only 3 , Two Great Norhtern Critter Gitters and a JD Berry Yaweh.
I have 7 bows, but mainly shoot just 2, most of the time.
13 oh thats bad luck need to get another one. Have three that I shoot most .64"RD Longbow, 58"recurve and my 66"self bow. The long bow been my to go bow lately.
Admit nothing, Deny Everything !!!
I know this is my wife trying to find out how many i have. No way no how am i talking.
But if you come by the house we can have some fun shooting. I have a couple different bows to shoot.
I've lost count on how many I have owned, but I'm down to an even 12 now and will be selling a few off, found a longbow I really like, thanks Jed.
Don't ask me that! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Presently I have 5 but mostly shoot 3 with one having a extra set of limbs.
69' Bear Grizzly 56" 50# @ 28"
72' Bear Super Grizzly 58" 45# @ 28" "friend is shooting that one so in reality it's his now"
91' Sky Sky Hawk w/ 2 limb sets 60" 47# @ 27" & 62" 56# @ 27"
08' Zona TD Recurve 60" 52# @ 28"
11' Zona TD Recurve 60" 36# @ 28" "this is now my indoor bow"
Just 2 traditional bows right now. A 50th anniversary Kodiak Mag, and an unknown year Shakespeare. The K-Mag has been getting most of my attention.
Jack I hear ya.... My case ...It was wife or "BOWS" !!!!! I'm missing her sometimes... !!!
 I'm not sure!?! :dunno:
My wife would say 20 some to many
I have 25+ bows most of the time. A dozen or so of them are lefty's I shoot and the others are righty's and/or kids bows I keep on hand for folks wanting to try trad archery. I have recurves, longbows, and self bows. I try to keep several kids bows on hand just to give away to kids who obviously want to pursue archery.
As of now I only have 3. One recurve,an old Bear Stag Hunter and 2 longbows. A black Widow PLX and a Venom custom from Diamondback Archery. I had another recurve that I built about 6 years ago but the glass on the top limb cracked a few weeks ago.
Isn't this kind of like asking a woman how much she weighs?
Personally I am two short of the perfect number, no three. I need a KwykStyk, a low grip Widow and a Dale Dye.
D.P.
It's ten for me... Five recurves and five longbows... :D
... mike ...
5 Bows: Bama Royal Osage Expedition takedown, Bama 66in Royal, Bama Hunter 66in, Bear Polar Recurve and a Shakespeare Necedah! Hunting with the 62in Expi!
I have a total of 4
Selfmade Red Oak 70"N2N longbow
Bear Alaskan (Holloween bow) 60" Semi-curve
PSE Kingfisher (Hunting/fishing)60" Recurved
Jerry Hill Deluxe Stalker 68" "HILL STYLE"
I say FEED THE SICKNESS GUYS!!!!!!!
I want to reduce the number I have by selling two and buying one. Once i reach the point where I can't sell two, I'll know it's time to be happy with what I have.
I only need one for hunting, my Kanati, so that's all I have for that purpose. I have a Browning Wasp for bowfishing and it can double for a back-up bow, just in case. Shoots the same arrows as my Kanati, so that's a big plus. I also have an osage bow I made several years ago, but at 67#@28", it's a bit on the heavy side so I never shoot it anymore. Been aiming to reduce the poundage on that bow, but can't seem to get around to it.
So I guess my answer is 3 bows altogether.
Ca 20 :)
I have four bows two Pronghorn Longbows one Bob Lee Recurve and a Hoyt Recurve. My goal is couple more Pronghorn Longbow and a Ferret Recurve.
1
I only have one, the one I want to shoot that day, just kidding ! Whatever I have listed that's it.
6 with a Wes Wallace on the way.
2 d/r-r/d longbows Widow PLX-O, Mohawk
2 H-Hill Big 5, Redman
2 recurves Widow PSA X, Brackenbury Legend.
lot's of arrows.
Eight, but there are three I haven't shot in over a year so they might be headed to the classifieds.
I was almost up to 20 but have whittled it down to my five best shooters plus a magnesium A handle riser that I need to get a set of limbs for.
I have one, my Hoyt Buffalo. I had a Bear Kodiak for a while also, but ended up selling it. I'm a one bow type guy.
I have 9 bows and 3.5 million arrows
I try to shoot all my bows but Two go to bows,
Larry
I have 11 at the moment with a beautiful 60",52@28", osage, John Maus "Autumn Storm" longbow getting ready to hit the classified section. Bought it for use in tite situations(pop up blinds and heavy cover) but just not getting much use now that I am a hunting mostly on the ground.
Some of you have the addiction real bad. :D
I only own two bows and they're both recurves. I shoot both of them equally when bowhunting or when back yard target shooting.
All heavier Hill/styles incl; Schulz, Kramer, J. Hill, Ron Maudling, & 3 maybe 4 (?) other Hills.
35......but that's accumulated over a lifetime and as I tell my wife, "I'm old, really old.".
I have two. A recurve (unknown maker) and a hickory longbow that I had to finish. However, the longbow has developed cracks, so I am down to just one shooter. Hope to start Elm selfbows soon.
Uhh, I refuse to answer this question on the grounds that it may incriminate me. To add a little more spice to my answer, Steve Turay (Northern Mist bow maker extraordinaire) said that a policeman friend told him about arresting a guy who was singing like a canary but suddenly clammed up and said "I am asserting my fifth commandment rights." Cop said, "You mean the one against self-insemination?" Guy replied, "Yeah, that one." So I refuse to inseminate myself. :readit: BUT....if I did answer the question, I would be forced to say 17...or there abouts. :knothead: Of course, I'm not about to answer the question.
I have thined the herd. At this writting, I am down to 6 Bears, 3 Wings,3 Big Horns 1 Bob Lee,1 Pittsley, 1 Hill,1 Monarch and 1 longbow I made. My wife would queston that there had been a reduction at all. L.
In the last 3-4 months I have sold 10......Just took inventory I have 20 left. The ones left are all what I call ones that I will keep unless something comes up. I have some real nice ones now 2 Zippers, a Silvertip, a Toelke, a Hill, Kohannah, 2 Holm Made and so on.........Yea, I know I have a problem!!!! :dunno: :nono:
The two listed below.
Wait a minute isn't this akin to asking how many lovers you had? :bigsmyl:
I don't shoot and tell. :archer2:
A 'few"....I'll leave it at that.
5 here with another on the way.
33
I think I caught some illness from Ron W-I just counted 18
14. I'm working on getting down to my 5 BamaBows and one Pronghorn with 3 sets of limbs.
I just sold two and so am down to 7. I am in the process of building my first self bow and if all goes well may end up selling a few more of my glass bows. But am also thinking of adding another Toelke...or two...I guess it just depends on the day.
Travis
More than I need, but not nearly all that I want.
I have 2, my go to bow is an old Ron Fox Longbow and I also have a lighter weight Jim Reynolds Ramhorn Recurve for a back up and to shoot when ground hunting.
I usually just keep 1. When I want another, I trade up or sell/buy. Before too long, I'll start keeping a few around...just can't justify at the moment.
I have two recurves and the wife has one.
I still want a 52"-54" recurve for blind hunting turkeys and one longbow. After that am done buying bows.
Those below and a Pearson recurve 45@28 that my lady shoots. Possible additions of Bamas in the future. The are like rabbits you know.
I have 3... One recurve, a BW PSA. I have a 68" 70# R/D longbow(my first custom bow) and my Caribow Silverfox. Not planing on buying more... Maybe a lighter set of limbs for my Silverfox and my PSA, but no other bows!!
***Don't wish to expose myself by self incrimination***
6 bear
6 hills
4 sely
1bob lee
7 self bow Osage
8-9 kids bows
And some Osage for more I shoot hill bow 90% of the time
Be carefull this could be grounds for divorce.
Just did a quick count and came up with 168.

I have two bows but only one stick bow right now. I just bought a Barta Bow from the classified and plan on using that throughout the year. I really want to pick up a HH bow to use next year deer hunting. Probably will sell the PSE wheel bow I have, don't see myself using it anymore.
Ron,
What's the prize? I hope it's a bow!
9 right now but only shooting my Belcher ILf with border limbs and another Belcher ILF with Belcher limbs as my back-up. Shawn
Currently 16, with 2 on order and more to come in the future.
I have 7. Just got a new to me Widow psaII last week and I love it. I guess the seventh time is a charm!! But ya never know what the future may hold. If I find another deal like the last one.......
Hey Jack, I can send you an old mid 70's Grizzly, but you probably have 15 or 20 them already...lol!
Too many and not enough :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
5 1/2. 2 Griffins, 1 Shrew, 1 Zipper,1 selfbow and a Zipper LB on the way. The half a bow is another Griffin that is shared by Cuz and I. Its the only way I would sell it to him.
12 longbows and 16 recurves. The recurves are mostly lightweight for kids to shoot, All the longbows are used by me at one time or another.
My wife asked me that question when she was attending Rod Jenkins' class with me, and the whole class cracked up.
I have 8 "official" bows, not counting the bows I have for when my grandchildren get old enough to shoot, some self bows that were just too beautiful to pass up, a couple of left-handed bows for when I want to shoot left-handed, some bows I traded for that I don't use very much, a bow I have set up for bow-fishing, and a bow or two I have at my office for when I want to practice blind bale shooting at a target I have there....
I have 5 and my wife has 2
I have 14 but two are grandkids' bows. I have been selling off a few but a friend gave me a nice old Ben Pearson longbow this summer.
51 left handed, recurves longbows and selfbows. 11 right handed, mostly recurves found at garage sales. Always looking for more.
Way more then I really need, way less then I had. What was the question again....
I have one.
Jack, if your handing out bows I could use a LH '61 or '62 Kodiak 50# or less if posisable.

Hello all, I have been lurking for about eighteen months now, and just registered today.
I have owned four and currently have three.
My first was a 48" osage stick bow that my grandfather made for me when I was ten, I still have it, but years sitting in my parents' garage have cause some cracks to form. It was pretty crude and had a nylon string, but I loved it.
My second was a 45# recurve that I bought for $45 when I was fourteen. I ended up selling it to pay for gas or books when I was in college, and the guy I sold it to got an eight-point white tail a week later.
Early this year, after deciding to get back into traditional archery, I bought a Samick Sage TDR at 50# and additional limbs at 40#.
A friend at work suggested I talk to Rick Ellis at Striker Bows about technique and after spending some time with him and shooting some of his bows, I placed an order that was delivered last Wednesday.
Last I have the Striker Stinger TDL which is at 56" and 51#. I chose the new shorter length for maneuverability in heavy brush (like back home in NW Ark) and my draw length is only 27".
I am extremely pleased with this bow, and my chrono test hits in the 151-159 range with wood arrows--which I consider pretty good considering the short length and the total lack of hand shock.
The Samick will probably find its way to craigslist this winter.

To paraphrase -
"Beware the man who owns one bow - he probably knows how to shoot it."
I can omly answer this quetion if you promise not to tell my wife - haha!
I own 8 (I think) but like you really only shoot one. That one would be my Sarrels Blueridge takedown longbow.
Bisch
It is really not a fair question............I have a collection of pre 1963 Kodiaks, Kodiak Specials and a few Grizzlies; and then there's the bows I hunt with.
11 recurves with my first Bigfoot Hybrd on the way....
I'll get back to you.... USPS, UPS and Fed-X were late :dunno:
Just bought two more tonight, two old old Bears a Kodiak and a Griz. I can't keep a good count because they keep moving on me.lol
A few more than my wife knows. UPS delivers to the office!
I had too many, just got some new limbs and then riser, and 2 more coming early next year
one recurve and two longbows, I ordered another recurve and will get rid of the longbows - so 2 eventually and I will keep it at that
I am new, I only have two. I only plan on 3 total.
I have a Samick Sage and a Bear Kodiak Magnum I got for cheaper than the sage.
I want to buy a nice bow in February that I really really like and then I'm not going to get any more bows.
I mostly have the Bear because I got a good deal on it and it's a Bear, I feel like I should have at least one!
I try to live a simple minimalist lifestyle but all my hobbies preclude me from doing so.
As I kayak, spinfish, flyfish, mt bike, road bike, run, do triathlon, play banjo, hike, camp, hunt, shoot archery, ride my motorcycle, etc I've accumulated a lot of stuff.
I had many. I found the perfect bow for me and got down to one bow. I was going to change my Tradgang handle to "One Bow Two Strings".
Then, since I like this bowyers bows so much, I had him build me one. Then I went on a collecting rampage. I like these bows so much I intend to try to donate them to the archery museum with Dr. Grayson's collection.
I still shoot the first bow I have from this bowyer everyday and hunt with it exclusively, but I enjoy his other bows also. I think my new handle will be "Shoot One Bow Look at Many"!
Gil
I have one Silvertip and I'm getting a Whisperstik Mojo in a month. I'm trying out another Silvertip right now, only time will tell.....

I think this topic needs some pics.
If I told you the answer then I'd have to send out a hitman to clean up my mistake...lol
Actually, not nearly as many as I've owned in the past and I fully expect the number to dwindle down further.
God bless,Mudd
PS: But I sure wish I had a .......... though...lol
15.9
The .9 is a Silvertip that should be done next month.
Only one at present and my son has one. Working on changing that with a couple of trial builds I am starting and looking to purchase a hill style longbow in the future when I have more money... :)
Opps!Made a mistake
For the time being, 15 bows.
Four are recurves, three not two are hybrids and eight are longbows which include three Hill style longbows and one ELB.
Currently only one longbow, at the moment it's a Holm Made Osprey. I've tried about 7 different bows so far.
I plead the 5th!!!!!!
If you ask a woman her age she would say 29......
So lets just stick with that ;)
Currently 14, with number 15 in the mail, unless you also count the extra riser and 2 extra sets of limbs!
Jeez, 25 ,but I could ad to that at anytime!
Have 14 now, always buying, trying, upgrading & selling.
Not even close to enough yet.
:biglaugh:
