Post by: Scattergun2570 on November 20, 2011, 08:24:00 PM
My Savannah is a 62" bow..so how do I know what length string to buy? Want to try a Fastflite..and who sells Fastflite strings?

I would try 3Rivers and order their replacement string for a Tomahawk 62 inch. I think with just a few twist you should be about right. If you order a standard fast flight string go with a 59" string

I shoot a 59" string on my Savannah,I like my own padded loop 6 strand 450+ on mine 55#@28.They can handle any of the modern low stretch strings out there.

He is talking about a skinny fast flight string made from only 6 strands. Usually this increases performance a little but to shoot that skinny of a string you need to add extra strands to the loops. 450+ is a new fast flight material. Again I would recommend that you call the people at 3rivers. They should be able to tell you exactly what string you need. I tend to like my 18 strand fast flight plus(dyneema) string on my Tomahawk.

You can also get ahold of a bowstring expert like Chad at   Champion Custom Bowstrings (http://www.recurves.com/bowstrings.html)  . He can walk you through all the necessary information and put together a first class string custom made for you.
Personally, I'd choose this over getting a generic string off the shelf.
