Hi fellas,
I would appreciate some info.
I love my BW and Lost Creek, but I can't ignore how many of you value your old Bear bows.
I am interested in getting an old Bear in my birth year, (1961), but I don't know where to start. I know that there are some years that were batter than others, and the same for the various models .
So please give me some purchasing guidance to help me buy the right '61 Bear.
I've been inspired by the many posts from you all that love them.
BTW, I have a 29.5 draw. And I would like a one piece.
Thanks guys!
Put an ad in Traditional bows, "Wanted, 61 Kodiak in good condition".
If you can find a Bear Grizzly in 58" I know mine (Super Griz 58") can be drawn past 29 without stacking. Nice and smooth all the way past my draw length.
The 61 Grizzly only came in factory camo and had a 62" AMO. Fine shooters and a great collector. The 61 Kodiaks were prone to having stress cracks in the limb glass. Mostly cosmetic and shouldn't effect the shooting ability in most instances. The Kodiaks are harder to find and usually demand a greater price.
I fully agree with the '61 Grizzly-great bow.
There were two camo patterns on the 61 Grizzly. I believe the leaf pattern came first but was dropped in favor of the regular camo to cut cost.
