I was watching 2 does this morning skirting around the hill around 9am when I heard the faintest little twig snap. As I turned around to look over my shoulder this ole boy was about 10 yards behind me! A few seconds later, after walking directly under my stand, he offered me a perfect 15 yd shot! I really don't think he knew what hit him! He might have went 40 yds before his hind legs gave out, it was all over in about 4 seconds!

Doing great Dennis! How have you been? My oldest son David took his first deer with a recurve a few weeks ago. The bucks are really getting cranked up here this week! I've got a doe tag so Karen & I are going out in the morning, she can still take a buck or doe.

I went to school at WVU and hunted a lot in Mon. and Randolph counties and sure never saw a buck that size.

Thanks guys! I really am lucky to live in a place where the deer can grow old! We haven't had a deer gun season since 1979, bowhunting only in the southern 4 counties. Granted there are not big bucks running around everywhere and the hunting is tough but we do have quite a few. My wife and I saw a buck this morning that was nicer than this one, 10 more yards and she would have had a great shot....maybe tomorrow!

That is very nice WV deer indeed. Lived in WV from 89 until I joined the army in 94 and never killed a deer there.

Hey Jack,

That was my wife, I've always been a righty! She is right handed, left eye dominant. She can shoot both ways but does better as a lefty. You still got that left handed B riser?

No Toby I have sold most of my bows except my Schafers and a Bear 66 Kodiak . She is like me RH but Left eye dominate so I shoot lefty.

Congrats Toby on taking a fine deer. You told me some years ago when we traded some bows, that there were some nice bucks running around in your neck of the woods, and that one just proves it. I hope your Wife will be just as lucky and take a nice one as well. I plan to give that 59 a work out in the month of January. Shoot Straight and Good Hunting.
