It has been a good Michigan whitetail season for me, probably my best.
October 22, 54# Talltines, 3555 GT Trad, 200 grain VPA, 18 yard shot. I had changed into tracking clothes because I knew I hit shoulder, but she only went 100 yards.

November 12, 53# Silvertip, 3555 GT Trad, 200 grain VPA. Rattled the buck in from over 300 yards and let him go by me for a 6 yard quartering shot. Entered near the last rib and came out in the opposite pit. 100 yards and he was down in sight. The doe came in with 3 friends 20 minutes later. 10 yard broadside shot and down in 20 yards.

Probably won't get out again until the December hunts, but that is just fine!
Nice work Dave!
chris <><
Congats it has been a great season for you.
Congratulations Dave - love the Michigan success stories. Those look like some good size does - did you weigh any of them? Where are you hunting?
Bob Urban
Congrats Dave good season for you.
Nicley done Dave. I still have my work cut out for me, especially since the 15th. has begun! I would say good luck in the rest of your season but.... pretty sure you dont need it. Awesome job!
Thanks guys.
Bobby, these are Calhoun County. I have a good scale in camp, but I haven't put up a buck pole to hang deer yet so they didn't get weighed. They were good sized, but there a bigger ones around that we see regularly, usually with nostrils flaring and looking up into the trees!
D.P.
Keep it up Dave
Don't forget me if any of the neighbors want a good leasee...
Great job , nice full freezer :clapper:
Very nice Dave!!
Way to go Dave. Has that worthless brother of yours scored this year?
Full freezer for sure! Congrats on a great season, so far!
Nice work Dave!
Nice!
Well Done! You're shooting a couple fine bows there too, how do you choose before a hunt which one gets the call?
Way to go Davey!!
Nice job
Congratulations on what appears to be a great season!!
Great season, I'd say so!!! Really nice pic's too!
Congrats!
Good job! And I think that in the Yukon the hunting is so great...How many deer a year are you alowed?
Way to go sir!
:clapper: Awesome job Dave it has been a good year for you
Thanks again.
DannyBows, much to the chagrin of my wife I have few bows! I usually take a couple to camp and make sure I am comfortable with the bow that strikes my fancy that sit.
David Yukon, you have a lot more variety than we do. I have been in the MacKenzies on the NWT side and they are pretty awesome. We get 2 buck tags with our combo license and the doe tags are unlimited in the county I hunt. I usually pick up 4 or 5 each year.
D.P.
Wow! You've been a busy man. Congrats.
Dave - I think I have some relatives of your matriarch does over here in Livingston County. Those old nanny's of the woods always seem to be onto the game. If you get another Bigun' in the December season put her on a scale and share her in the big doe contest thread. If you don't need the arrows that is fine - I just like to encourage others to shoot the swamp donkeys and be proud of the accomplishment.
again, congratulations on a fine season so far!!
And that's how you do it...Nice work.
Congratulations on a great season! You'll be eating well all year! Nice pictures!

Looks like you have a lot of cutting and grinding to do Dave, good for you. :clapper:
Bought my first real trad bow, a used Morrison from Dave bout 5 years ago. Had the pleasure of meeting him in person 2 years ago at Compton. Fine gent and from the hero pics here a fine hunter too !!! Congrats Dave, good on ya bud ! :clapper:
GEEZ! Nice Job Dave!
Way to go Dave...you're a machine! Just think that you're bow will be launching another arrow at the end of May! Glad to see that you're not afraid to shoot....keep it up!....Ryan
Thanks folks. It has been fun.
Ryan, I have become a big fan of VPA Terminators. I think they will be just the ticket on a bear.
D.P.
Dave...got 200 gr. VPA's in my quiver as we speak. I have yet to shoot one at game but should get the chance this week. Congrats again...Ryan
Ryan,
Have you seen wha Dave's deer look like after a VPA Terminator passes throgh them :goldtooth:

Great shooting Dave, Full freezer this year.
Hey Dave......looks like you've been pretty darn busy brother! Congrats on the very full freezer.
Keep in touch with me. I've got another shoulder surgery scheduled for Feb. . Do you want book two for one? We can rehab together?
Hey Tim,
That was the "Pagel Bow" that took the buck and doe out the same morning. I had a few pounds taken off of it after you and Webster killed countless deer with it.
I am sorry to hear about your shoulder. Knock on wood, but mine has been good the last couple of years. I started a light lifting routine and focus a bit on the shoulders. It seems to have helped for now. Good luck!
D.P.
Now that's a great accomplishment right there! Congrats man!
Good Job Dave, I see your feeling the freezer should be a great winter for you and your family.
I just got back from Illinois with a decent buck but my son shot the biggest of his life.
This sure replaces the addiction we had for our baseball days doesn't it?
Send me a pm some time about those vap, thinking about trying them out.
Great Job
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving my Friend
