Post by: Thumper Dunker on November 15, 2011, 03:41:00 PM
Had this guy get to about 50 yards almost had him in for a shot. Had no clue where I was .
Let him walk off for later. He came in to a challege howl, showed up in maybe 90seconds all frazeld up ready to fight.Stuck around for a few minutes before walking away. Cool stuff.
He's in the center.

I got respect for the work you do smacking coyotes.    :clapper:

I had an almost myself.  I heard non-squirrel  rustling in the leaves and got ready.  A coyote came trotting under my stand from behind.  I twisted to that side of the tree and, in drawing, I bumped the upper limb just enough to make a little "bip".  At that noise he instantly went into afterburner and I leaned back for clearance and tried a grouse shot by pulling through him and releasing as my aim passed in front of him.  Was going to be a good shot but a witchhazel sapling threw itself in front of my arrow, shattering the wood shaft into pieces.

Coyotes 1, me 0.

It is amazing the way the witch hazel and coyotesm work together like that.  I've found that a small spruce will also sacrafice itself for a coyote!
