Wenge handle, figured maple I-beam, quilted maple veneers.
Im sure liking the looks of that riser, good luck.
Ken,
Are you building this bow? It is looking Suuh WeeeT!
I am looking forward to progress on this piece.
That will be a good one to follow!!
When should I pick it up? Lol. Sweet.
Looks great!!
Guys,
I wish I had the know-how to build this! This is the start of my John McCullough 59'er I have been waiting for. 3 Years in the making, but I'm up now!

Since when does John have a computer? That will be a sweet one.
forgot your name was up on his list!
Glad he was willing to build you a 59er.
I hope it was OK to post the pics. I didn't think about it til just now. John is working on mastering the computer!
I'm glad he's agreeable to the 59'er. This bow is going to be awesome!
What a "tease". :D
Any day now.......!
Oh my!
Martin
Looking forward to this one!
:campfire: not today :nono:
I see plenty of grain and nice tight glue lines. Great stuff! The name, catskill, is neat too.
I have to admit I sold both my longbows to finance the 59'er. I either have to change my name or acquire another longbow!
Trade you any one of my longbows for your 59er ;) ;) :goldtooth:
so far so good
Thanks Charlie, but in a day or two I don't think I'll be missing them! They were pretty much collecting dust anyway. I've been trying to make myself a better shooter by using only 1 bow, so for the last couple of years it has been my K-Mag.

It IS a beauty! Love the wood combination.
Beautiful Bow
Wow..! Nice bow!
very nice! I really like this one
Sorry for the poor camera skills. The grain in the wenge is alot more pronounced than it appears in the pics.
Oh my, that is incredible!!!!! Congrats.
Beautiful...prettiest 59'er I've seen!
Awesome bow Catskills. What about the 59er drew you in vs the shrew type design. The handle looks to be the same.... Just curious!
Ken, that bow is very nice.
please note, the trade for a longbow is still on the table ;) ;) (just in case).
Somehow I think the 2 of you will get along nicely.
As Starkist always said "Sorry Charlie!".
I can't wait get set up and start shooting it.
Longbow-I had a Griffin (Shrew type) and liked it alot. I've also always liked the look of a fine recurve. My final decision was based on the fact that there are alot more Griffins and Shrews around than 59'ers. There is a little more mass to a 59'er which to me just feels better, and that grip is awesome on either bow.
Perfect bow. tm
What is that wood in the I beam? Very cool, looks like sheeps horn.
Izzy, John calls the I-beam figured maple. It is sweet in real life! Lots of depth, looks 3-D.
Very nice!!
That's a really nice looking bow, I like the way the colors go together, John is make me one out of Koa should be done near the end of January or so.
Carl
That has to be the nicest Fiftyniner I've ever seen. Super looking bow
WOW!
Very Nice....!!....
Sweet looking bow !!!
Bill
I usually see bows as tools more or less, but dang that thing is gorgeous!
A beautiful example of American craftsmanship!
Bows that nice should be outlawed !Heck the rest of us could start a riot!Beee-U-Teeefal!
That is a dream bow! WOW! Congrats!
WOW! You're a lucky man. That is...ART!
beauty
It's actually too nice for me-I'm going to be afraid to take it out in the woods! It's like having a new truck and worrying about when your going to get the 1st scratch.
