The riser on my recurve is cut well past center. I've built the sight window up so that if I line the string up with the center of the limbs the centerline of my arrow appears to be about 1/16" to the left of the string/center. I'm right handed. Am I pushing my luck with the arrow this close to center. ???
If I shoot with proper back tension etc the arrows travel down the pipe with the occasional one going to the right. It's the shooting to the right that bothers me. Could it be caused by the arrow being so close to center.
For the record, my arrows bare shaft and paper tune nicely.

I don't think I can help you much here, but what I heard is that a bow cut past center, will be more forgiving with a broader range of arrow spine...

Im not a tuning guru by any means, but in my experience a bow cut behind center is harder to tune then one with a true center cut or a + cut.
But as you already build it out and youre arrows tune good, i guess its a form issue rather then the cut of the strike plate causing the occasional flyer.
To be able to tell anything how about posting bow weight,draw, arrow size, type of bow. All would help to find a solution without guessing.
Bow is 62" Chek Mate recurve, 50# at 28",
Arrows are Patriot carbon 45-60 with 350 grains up front cut to 27 1/2 inches. (They spine at 76 pounds on 26" centers.) I draw 27.25", split fingers.

I've got a couple recurves cut past center and I end up needing to pad out the riser a little left of center (I'm right handed) to get good arrow flight. I use a piece of foam two-sided tape cut to 3/16" wide x 5/8" tall (+/-) under a self stick leather pad (put the strip right over the deepest part of the grip cut-out). If I need more I sometimes use additional thicknesses of the foam tape or a piece of Nylon cable-tie. Paper matches or leather strips will work, too.
