Post by: Caleb the bow breaker on November 14, 2011, 12:38:00 PM

A ladder stand without a rifle rail around the seat.

Six dozen Douglas fir shafts.

Two "suits" of really nice long underwear.

A guided moose hunt (try for the home-run).

I would go with stumpkiller on the six dozen DF shafts... Make it six dozen fully loaded arrows by Snag(wilderness arrows)!

Good wool, by filson(if you like wool).

A good paire of boots( I need a pair of hikking boots).

Ulimited hunting time!!

A knew custom knife... or two... I love knifes...Maybe a hawk...

What is your list?

Brothers of the Bow is offering a free copy of Primal Dreams Condensed Version when you buy their Essential Encounters DVD between Nov. 15th and Dec. 15th.  A great bonus if you want an extra personal copy or have a local club, school. or library you're like to donate one to . . . or maybe just an extra copy to slip into your son or daughter's Christmas stocking.

I would really like a 3-d Target if anybody has any recommendations???

I got to order a bow from Nate at Bama Bows, a dozen arrows from Magnus, and my wife went out and bought me a Rinehart 3D buck target.

I ordered my wife a midsize longbow from Mike at Maddog, and a half dozen arrows from Magnus.  I still need to get her a tab and arm guard.

I told my parents all I wanted was either the Masters of the Barebow series or a couple books by G. Fred....and I made it a point to let them know both would also be ok.

So all in all it's already been a great Christmas, but the greatest gift will be my first child, a little girl, will be born around the first of the year.

Pat congrats on the new baby to be!! This will be indeed a great gift!

As for you Caleb the bow breaker, I would ask for your dream hunt, and elk guided trip, as Alaskan moose hunt...

A 3D target would be great! I would love to have a moose 3D... Do they make that ?

I like the moose hunt idea lol. But more realistically; books (fred bear and Asbell), I would love an Asbell wool pullover, a dozen finished cedars, and a new 3D.

Make sure you have a GOOD safety harness.  That one item could very well keep you around for many more Christmas days.

My wife gave me the okay to orber a Bama Bow as well, only she didn't release all the funds quite yet.  Something about extensive home renovations, a new compound slide mitre saw I recently bought, and just getting back from a sheep hunt.  She gave me the down payment for my birthday.  I have gone over several design ideas already, but will wait till the new year to order one, finalize a few design points.

I would also put an Asbell Mackinaw on my list, a copy of Mike Mittens book, a good neck knife, some decals from Hardcore Archery.  Also you can never go wrong with quality wool base layers, shafts or broadheads, or a magazine subscription renewal.

I have a couple of knives I reduced in the sponsor classifieds. They are priced to move and who ever gets them will have a hell of deal! They would make some one a great Christmas present. You may have a few bucks left to get something else.
Thanks Scott

Have been looking for a 1pc Silvertip rc for a while now. Actually 8 months (just looked it up), so I think that's enough. I think I'll ring up Beth, and get on the list.   ;)

Well, I reckon I just bought mine, a 2pc BamaBows Hunter from the classifieds. It's early I know, but when the right bow comes along you gotta go for it.

I've got no one, so I always buy myself something. You fellas getting Bama's will be very happy.

I always tell my wife and girls I want something handmade from the hard working Americans that make the stuff we all love and enjoy. Could be a knife, quiver, bow, Asbell wool or any of the handy commodities that a trad hunter would love and need.

Makes it a little more sentimental when it comes from momma or the girls.

This year they are getting me a new striker Stinger in maccasar ebony veneers with an ebony and osage riser and tips!    :readit:

Boy did I luck out or what. I think next year I will go big and ask Mrs. Clause for an Alaska Moose hunt   :bigsmyl:  I mean after all what's Christmas with out a Christmas wish LOL

A dozen nice arrows would be good. Or a couple dozen shafts and makings. I like the moose hunt best.

I always ask for another quiver and she always says "how many quiver does a guy need". Last year I got an Art Vincent pocket quiver for 3D shoots, that was good. I would imagine they would always get you safety stuff, unless they don't want you around.

I wish I could talk everyone in my family into making their presents one year. Some would be better than others but thats not the point. Christmas seemed so simple and pure when I was a kid. Now I watch my kids open an endless pile of presents that they forget about in a week.

I guess I would wish for anything homemade.

Well, since this has become a "what do I want for Christmas" thread, I'll chime in:

- 58" Kanati. Ordered last week. √

- 2 months off every fall.

That's not so much to ask for, is it?
