My little brother Dwayne, who lives in Muskogee, OK is at McAllister Ammo Depot this weekend for his 5th consecutive hunt due to getting quality passes each year for killing does or hogs. This year they are not giving them for does but only hogs and they told them at orientation that no one had killed a hog yet this year. He had a herd of 15 young ones come in under him tonight and got one with the first shot and then missed two others that were darting around. When they came in to check it in, one of the officials yelled "Who killed it?" and then looked in the truck window at my brother and said, "I don't even need to ask do I?" Last year Bill Starry pointed him out at the morning meeting and told everyone they needed to be following him around cause he was a killer. I was sure excited for him to get another year. He had deer around him all day too but never a good one. I'll keep you posted if he gets a big one. Here is a pic of one of his deer from last year.

Great job. Congrats to Your brother for being such a killer.
My Mothers family homestead was just outside of McAllister around Hartshorn. Is it possible for non-residents to draw tags for this hunt?
The opportunity to hunt there would be cool.

Yes you can. It is a federal facility. I have met guys there from all over the USA.
Well done!!

I talked to Dwayne tonight and he got an 8 pt this morning, a doe at 2:30 and then went back in and killed a 250 lb boar hog in the late afternoon. What a day of hunting. I will post some pics when he sends them.
Wow! That's a full days hunting right there! I look forward to hunting there next year as this deployment I'm on now canceled my hominy visit this year.
 :clapper:
Dwyane doesn't look so little...you must be huge!
Good on you both, him for the hunting, you for the reporting. Big brother supporting little brother. Beautiful.
I'll look forward to hearing about it next year Jim. Stay safe and thanks for serving. Dwayne used to be little. He is 12 yrs younger than me.
Congratst to your brother.
Can't wait to see the hog pic.
What set up is he shooting?
He shoots a reflex deflex longbow made by a local OK guy. I think it is called a Black Hollow bow and I think he is shooting around 55#, carbon arrows with extra weight in the front and Mangus Stingers. I hope he got pics of the big hog because they don't allow you to take pictures inside the depot and I think he had to leave it where it lay because he could not drag it out by himself.
Pics can be taken back in the camp ground where the check station is.
looking forward to the pictures.
Congrats on the pig but it was not the first one. My buddy killed one on the last weekend of Oct hunt and the board had (I think) 8 others killed in the first 3 weeks of hunting. I saw a BIG boar but it was too far off to get a shot.
Congrats on all the animals to your brother.

Congrats to your brother!!
Good job
Here is a picture of his 2 deer and I'll try to get him to send a picture of the pigs tomorrow. I just checked the email and this is the only picture he sent. He says they told them at orientation that no hogs had been killed this year Bisch. Maybe he just heard them wrong.

yes I was there with him, we actually shot on the range together Wednesday, and he is right in our briefing Thursday Morning, Bill said that there had been no hogs killed. So he didnt hear wrong..
That is what he told me again this morning fryar34. He said the biologist had to go find the book when he turned in the pig and told him they had not written any quality passes yet. He did not take any pics of the pigs. He said the big one was too heavy to drag out and he called the office and told them where it was and they said to just leave it. He said they told them not to take any pics out on the depot so he didn't take a picture of it.
Well, maybe they are just saying that cause they really want those hogs killed out. I don't know? I helped my buddy drag his hog and watched Eric hand him a quality pass for next year. No big deal either way. Your brother had a great hunt and congrats to him!
