Hi,
I thought about getting on the list for a new bow.
As there are so many options out there, i thought id ask if you could help me, not deciding...but brainstorming ans suggesting ;)
Im looking for a Longbow that is:
as R/D as can be with still having a D profile;
as short as can be with still handling 30" draw length;
2 piece Take Down option;
My ideas so far:
Big Jim Buffallo Bow
Liberty Contender
Mohawk
Any more you could recommend?
Thanks for any input,
Axel
AHve you consider Cari-Bow, I shoot a Silver Fox 62" and draw 30" and it work great! I know the silverfox is not a D profile, but I think that Abe have something that could fit the bill?!?!
The Mohawk Sparrow Hawk is newish and very well recieved. Vince makes a great bow. Also, I would check out Abbott bows, real nice. Leon Stewart makes a super R/D longbow as does Dwyer, Deathwish and Toelke's super D. Lots of others out there, and some a bit more than mild R/D are real good too like Twotracks.
So many great bows ... so little time! :archer:
Bob.
Liberty Contender !
fit and finish are second to none ... quick turn around and a dream to shoot !
I am currently waiting for my new one with yew lams .
Allen is a great guy to deal with .
Wes Wallace Royal
Northern Mist Superior or Baraga.
Look at Abbott Longbows and talk to Steve, he makes a great bow!
Dan Toelke Super D, super smooth bow and craftsmanship above and beyond.
2 tracks long walker is a great bow. Not sure on the lenght to draw length, but the 64" takes a 29 1/2" draw fine. VERY fast hard hitting bow for being a D shape.
I dont think the Big Jim strings to a D, that said its a fantastic bow. The WW Royal also flattens out a bit on the limbs if you look close.
Ive owned multiple Contenders and Mohawks, and can highly recomend either, the Crow Creek Dalton is equal or better than any out there... as is the Treadway "D" and Toelke Super "D". All these listed in the last paragraph string up to a "D", with no flat in the arch of the limb when strung.
Try a DWYER original and save yourself a lot of time . BILL
It's not a D-shape longbow but Tomahawks are about as good as it gets.
Just looked at the r/d beaut from Maddog Mike. Bob Sarrels & Marty Thompson (Apex Bows) make plenty good stuff also. I trust any of these guys. Otherwise, it'll likely be a used Morrison Dakota.
